K3565 number expired

Got an old K3565 Rev 2 with the number now deactivated and recycled but would like to get it active again. Just want some advice on how to get it going and I believe I can get a new data SIM for the dongle. This will be a 4G one but I presume it will operate at 3G as this is the top performance for the dongle.

It looks like I can get inside by removing a couple of screws and be able to replace the SIM. The last posts I saw on this topic were some three years old so anxious to get the latest view. Also saw something about downloading the software again which is important as I used to use the software off the firmware in the dongle which I presume has been changed?

Any help on the latest status on this is welcome so thanks in advance. Gordon

Hi and Welcome to the eforum. 

Is this the older thread you speak of ?

Going from the thread it does look like the Op in that thread was successful using the Payg sim they acquired. 

Some information in this thread about Firmware. 

Their seems to be quite a few hits by a Google Search too which may also help. 

Maybe a user of that Dongle or one of the Tech Team will be along shortly to further advise / assist.
