Solution

Unable to Connect to Net - RAS error code 668

Hi everyone,

I am posting on behalf of a pal who is having a lot of problems setting up his dongle.  I have tried but keep hitting the same problem.

His laptop is an old one, but running Win 7, with  1 Gb. RAM.

He is using a K3805-Z dongle and the Vodafone Mobile Broadband version is 10.0.  I have un-installed and reinstalled the software but keep getting an RAS error code of 668. I can't connect to the net for him, and I don't know what else I can try. He has a desktop, and this manages to connect using the same dongle and software without any trouble at all.  Could it be his laptop?  Has anyone else experienced this?

Any help or suggestions would be great.

Many thanks,

Carol

Hey Quetzal013!

  • As far as I know, RAS error code 668 is received when you have by default a different APN by the one that you should use. Please check what services you are using and the tables below.

I found on this page all APNs at Vodafone UK.

You may also need the Access Point Name (APN) added to your account to allow you to access the internet - to arrange this please contact:

Here some steps form JD::

- Recreate Profile.

In the dashboard select Advanced

- Ensure the Vodafone Mobile Connect Software is set to the correct Account Type.

In some instances the account type can be changed (often in error) resulting in the 619 code. Select the Function button in the top left corner, click Options then Account type and select the connection you are using (either Contract or Prepay).

Good luck!
