Hi nmattcool09,
To be honest this would normally indicate that there was a driver instalation issue when the modem was installed, if you load up the computer manager, and expand the lists under device manager and Universal Serial BUS controllers with the modem plugged in, you will probably see the modem listed with a yellow icon next to it, if you right click this icon and select update drivers it will usually resolve this for you.
Alternatively, uninstall it again and re install it using a different USB port.
