Vodafone Mobile connect Installation rolls back

Soul

Hello,

My girlfriend just recently bought Vodafone Websession kit (with usb dongle modem), I gave her my laptop with Windows 7 SP1 x64, OS is stalled correctly with the latest updates. And here we are facing a problem when installing the software, When installation reaches (Starting Services) its suddenly rolls back, and disappears. My guess is, that it can't start some kind of services, so i would like to ask, what kind of services must be started and set to Automatic, so the software would install?, maybe i could start them manually, waiting for the answer, its really urgent!

My Skype is: Savas_86 if somebody would like to talk.

Hi Soul,

Thank you for your patience. :smileyhappy:

I have spoken to our technical team and they have advised me that there may be a conflict with some of the programmes currently running on your laptop.

In order to resolve this we need to disable all non-Microsoft services., to do this;

Start Menu > Search msconfig > Go to Services tab > Select hide all Microsoft services > Disable all > Ok > Do you want to restart select Yes.

After your computer has restarted please install the Websession Kit back onto your laptop, this I have been advised will be successful, in order to recover your other programmes after installing please follow the instructions as above and instead of Disable all you will need to select Enable all.

Please let me know how you get on.

Many Thanks

Thank you, i will try as soon as i will get home from work.

OK, i solved the problem, the problem was in some kind of process that was running in background, its was  FixCamera.exe, so i simply killed it from task manager and installation went ok :), thank you for your time. But now we are facing other problem, btw modem is K3565-Z, so problem is, that webpages doesnt load!, Skype is working fine, weard. In the network connections it shows that we have only "Network", but no internet access. I tryed to do ipconfig /flushdns, but that didn't help. Any solutions for that ?

Hi Soul

Thanks for your post here. I’m sorry to hear that you are having trouble with this. I appreciate how frustrating this must be for you but I’m glad you fixed the other issue :Smiling:

With regards to your connection to the internet, does it show as ‘connected’ via the Mobile Broadband dashboard software? What level of signal is it showing (2G or 3G)?

Do you have a mobile phone that you would be able to put the SIM into?

If so, pop it in and perform a manual roam (manually select the network) or connect to the internet. This will update the SIM’s connection to the network. Then, pop it back in the modem and try again.

Please give this a go and let me know how you get on.

Thanks

Wayne

Want to give feedback about me?

You can do so here

I'm having an identical problem on my Windows 7 Home Premium system. I have followed the instructions detailed above - disabled all non Microsoft services and I still get the roll back problem. I can install the 9.4.6 software on it but that doesn't work very well once installed.

Hi SkyMover and welcome to the eForum

Thanks for your post here. I’m sorry to hear that you are having problems with this. I appreciate how frustrating this must be for you.

The user above (Soul) managed to fix this by using task manager and ending a process. Have you checked in there to see if there is anything running that you do not understand? If you do not feel comfortable in doing this, I would suggest speaking to an independent I.T. specialist to do this for you.

With regards to the other version of the software, what about it isn’t working very well? Could you be more specific?

Thanks

Wayne

Hi,

I have the same problem on freshly installed XP Pro. Installation goes through smoothly, but at the very end automatically rolls back. Tried everything I found in the web, nothing helps... Any ideas?

regards,
