First issue... My HTC Desire HD not sending texts to an iphone on O2 even with loads of signal, texting other phones/networks and even the ability to send emails. The iphone in question works fine but any messages from me take ages to come through and for me to receive back.
Secondly... My HTC keeps crashing, coming up with the screen to either restart or turn off phone as the sim card is not installed. Im very careful with my phone, so why is the sim suddenly not there?? Surely it cant move inside my phone!! Also this only seems to happen in times when I really need my phone to work, even when I restart it it takes a lifetime to do so, and sometimes I have to turn it off, take the sim out, put it back in an try again, now as this occurs mostly in times of need Im getting rather fed up.
Thirdly... changing the online upgrade dates with no warning or explanation from vodafone, I was told when I took out my contract a couple of years ago I could down grade my price plan after a few months, seems this was a lie, and now Im not using my contracts worth, seems pointless paying so much for something that barely works.
Any advice is appreciated!
Apologies for long grumpy post.

Nothing to say on the text message issue (other than strange!)
With the SIM issue it could simply be a dodgy SIM. If you live near a VF shop, I would pop in and ask for a new one. It takes about 5 minutes to produce and about an hour ot so to activate and rules out one possible defect.
Conceivably there is dust inside the sim holder.
The last possibility to follw up is that you phone has a fault.
The early upgrade route was always a dodgy one in my mind. You would find that the remainder of the old contract is lumped onto the new one. It is a bit like robbing Peter to pay Paul. I always feel it best to run your contract down. It could actually put you in a better position when it comes to upgrading.

If you can send text ok to other networks it would suggest that the fault may actually lie with O2 in receiving/forwarding text to the iphone...
have u upgraded to latest OS/reinstalled the OS on your HTC to adress the crashing? this may resolve it, failing that you want to look at a repair via HTC/Vodafone - this may also be due to an "rogue" app you have installed - try removing anything you have installed since it started to do this (the phone doing this when u need it is purely a coincedence...its a smartphone but it aint smart enough to know ehen u need to use phone, and just want to kill some time
)
Your upgrade date always has officially been at the end of whatever you sign up to, anything early has been a "one off/temporary offer"...it is still possible if you are prepared to pay for the privelige
...downgrading plans have been gone for a long time - 2 years+ afair

Hi redsunflower25
Thanks for your post. We'll be happy to address the queries detailed above for you.
In relation to your SMS not sending to the specific O2 number, we'll require a number of examples of dates and times that you've sent the texts and they've not been received. If you e-mail them directly to us via the details in the private message (PM) I'm sending to you that would be great.
With regards to your handset stating that the SIM card is not installed, I'd maybe suggest trying the SIM in another device for a short while to see of you encounter the same error. This will help to discover whether the issue lies with the phone or the SIM card. If the SIM card doesn't prove to be the cause then we'll need to take a look a repair under warranty.
Finally, with regards to your upgrade date, you can find more information here.
Further details are in the PM. You can find your PM inbox here. If you can't access this link, please ensure that the box next to "Turn on private messages" is ticked on this page, and let us know if you need any further assistance.
Thanks
Simon
