Bluetooth Problems

Hi

I have been experiencing a problem with bluetooth on my Desire handset.

I can connect to my bluetooth headset, and the bluetooth in my Ford Focus no problem. However, when I receive or make a call nothing can be heard. The person on the other end can hear me fine. I am also unable to transfer files over bluetooth.

I took the phone to my local Vodafone shop and was told it would need to go away for a repair and I would be without the phone for a week. It was sent away to be repaired on 22/03/11.

I collected the phone on 29/03/11 and was told the repair had been done and it was a software issue and a fresh image had been flashed to the phone. The fault still exists and I am unable to make a call or transfer files over bluetooth.

I am really unhappy at the way this has been handled. When the problem first occoured the first thing I did was re flash the software to the phone, I explained this when I handed the phone back for repair and I appreciate that the repair team did this also, but surely they would have tested that a call could be made via bluetooth.

I also had a piece of blue tape stuck over the screen, this has completely ruined my expensive screen protector.

I would like somebody to call me today please so I can discuss this. I am currently on my 3rd or 4th Desire handset and am really unhappy at the thought of being without my phone for yet another week.

Thanks

Darren.

Re: Bluetooth Problems

Darrencuk

I had the same problems not able to bluetooth files to my friends then realised I had to download an application, the one I downloaded was Bluetooth File transfer, don't know if this will work for your car though, make sure the FTP box is ticked under your bluetooth settings, you need to play about with it for a while to figure it out , once you have connected to the person you want to send the file to hold down the song or picture and press the send via bluetooth, think this should work for you.

Re: Bluetooth Problems

Hi Lisah

Thanks for the reply :smileyhappy:

I have tried this method and it still fails. Bluetooth is half working. People can hear me fine, I can only hear static. I have another desire in the family and this works perfectly both transfering files and with my car kit.

They are both on exactly the same firmware. So I am pretty sure it's a problem with my handset.

Re: Bluetooth Problems

Hi Darrencuk,

I'm sorry to hear of the issues you have had with your handset.

I can see for your second post that you have already tested the car kit with another handset ,so we can count that out as being the problem. If the software has been flashed twice, then this will be a physical issue with the Bluetooth.

The handset will need to go back for repair under it's warranty. If you have insurance on your line, you will be able to have a loan phone whilst yours is away for repair. You can find more information on our repairs process in our Popular Vodafone Questions
