Failed to install - Desire S - Firmware Update 1.47.161.2

Hi all, I just thought I'd add a problem I had, yesterday my GF received notification of an OTA update from Vodafone for her HTC Desire S, it said 1.47.161.2 was available. I set it to download but it didn't finish saying that the download was corrupted (think it might of been weak wifi in spare room), I cancelled it and asked it to download again, this time it wouldn't move beyond 0% so I cancelled it again using the 'Decline' update button as it was the only other option available. Now I can't get the update, if I go to Settings ->About Phone -> Software Updates it tells me that no updates are available. When I look at the software version it's still on the old release 1.32.161.2.
The update worked fine on my Desire S, I wonder if it's because I did it in the same room as the router.
Can anyone suggest how I can apply the update now?
Thanks.

Hi Cookie
First time I dismissed it, then next time I checked it wasn't there, I checked again immediately & it was. This might not particularly insightful suggestion, but keep on checking manually and maybe it'll pick it up again (sorry if you already have)
Generally I'd recommend a good wifi connection and being on charge or good full battery for any update by the way
Good luck ![]()

Hi cookie_monster
Welcome to the eForum
it is always good to see new faces on here.
I am sorry to see that your girlfriend's phone has had an issue with trying to update.
I have to admit Mr_H advice is good as it doesn't harm anyone in checking again to see if it appears.
The 2 suggestions that I have are:
1. To do a factory reset, this might clear the first try of the download so that you are given the chance to download again.
If that doesn't work, the only way to get this update is to send the phone away for repair, the repair centre will then flash the phone with the latest update.
