HTC Desire&HD how to boost your signal

hi all.

tried and tested this,works brilliantly.

menu, settings, wireless&networks, scroll down to mobile networks, open network mode, and tap on GSM only.

the only problem i have noticed doing this,is if you get an MMS from someone, you need to go back to the settings,
and tap on GSM/WCDMA auto,to open it.
as i said,i have had this set up for a couple of months now,and cant fault the signal strength.

hope this helps.

other people suggest entering the testing menu dial : *#*#4636#*#*

Phone information - change to GSM Auto (PRL)

I've no idea what the difference is though.. but it's much more technical .. and therefore makes me look knowledgeable! :-)

Re: HTC Desire&HD how to boost your signal

The bonus of having it GSM only as well is that it saves battery also as it doesn't have to use more power to try and grab a 3G/H signal too. Its useful if you know you will be in an area of weak 3G signal and don't require data at that time. You can also toggle such a setting using a widget.
