Hi spike1965
So far your the only person to report such an issue.
Is it just the radio your having issues with, or are any other apps affected?
It would be useful if anyone who's updated to 2.2 can get the radio working without any issues, as we need to determine if this is a general issue or one local to your handset.

The app itself works fine for me on 2.2, although I can only get reception when using the headset that came with the phone, my other earbuds (which are far more comfortable) don't seem to work as an aerial very well.

I too have a very similar problem. Since the 2.2 update, the radio seems to do random things, including force closing, freezing the phone altogether (only way to recover is to remove the battery), and initiating last number redial. I have now stopped using the FM radio until I get the update from HTC (see other thread about Bluetooth, that too has also stopped working properly since 2.2). Radio presets disappeared too, and sometimes battery life since 2.2 is appalling - which seems to be due to applications still running (this may be the FM radio app, as since I've stopped using it, and reset my phone, battery life is fine.
It is a shame as otherwise Froyo is good.

Yep, my radio won't launch at all with same error force close message as spike1965. Had the phone three weeks but only tried radio yesterday. Tempted to take it back - surely it's not fit for purpose

See simple "clear-cache" fix that may help with FM radio problems: http://www.androidpit.com/en/android/forum/thread/ 397598/HTC-Desire-FM-Radio#p507679

I have a problem with the radio too.
If I switch the Radio off while listening then when I switch it back on again i just hear static, even if I am in the same place where I was previously listening to a strong signal... in fact the signal indicator lights still show a strong signal but I just still hear static. Restarting the phone, or leaving it without using the radio for a few hours resolves this, but clearing the radio cache / data doesn't.

Works fine with my sennheiser cx-300 headphones. However I like to use internet radio as well at times via TuneRadio... Of course it will use up data though compared to the FM Radio... Try another pair of headphones to test.
