Bloatware = stuff you're never going to want but operators feel the need to put on. Same as the free trials you get on a new PC

HTC Desire HD

went into phones4u after work today just to see if they had any desire hd's and low and behold they guy came out with one, i just wanted to see what contracts they offered as i had popped into the cpw as well and they said they couldn't better what vodafone had offered me, which was the 18 month contract 900 minutes unlimited texts and 750mb internet.

anyway, the guy went through all the tarrifs in phones4u and the tarriff i was on before i made my pre order came up on an 18 monther, *interesting* i though, i'm not a great talker, and would use no where near 900 minutes a month, i wasn't even using anywhere near the 300 minutes of my previous contract. so i thought to myself* internet is my main priority, i was using nearly a gig a month* so i walked out of phones4u with my new htc desire for free, 18 month contract, 35ppm unlimted texts and 500mb internet, and just pay an extra fiver a month if i want to use 1gig, as i was prepared to pay vodafone 40 a month for 750mb, and i didn't really want the minutes. i did have to sit there for a while though while they went through all their rubbish, and they are a cowboy outfit, and i did have to cancel my pre-ordered upgrade, but hey, i got the contract i wanted, brand spanking new phone, and to top it all off, 8gb card included on an unlocked phone.... result

CPW has it as "in stock" on their website, So I might call the local store tomorrow.
Interestingly, their website lists it as "brown"?

I thought (from the YT videos) it was just black?

HTC Desire HD

hey everyone, i wonder if any of you have been having similar problems to me.

i upgraded my current phone (Blackberry Storm) to the Desire HD yesterday, but since ive upgraded, the internet on my Blackberry doesnt work. i cant access my email, websites, facebook or msn. its not a major issue as the phone is released in a week but i rely on getting emails due to work. so i was curious if anyone else had been having the same issues as me.

Unfortunately I am too! I upgraded to the new HTC Desire HD this morning and almost straight away lost my BIS service on my BlackBerry. This is a real pain as I rely on my BlackBerry for my emails.

Help! Is there anything that can be done to overcome this problem?

Phoenixuk and Luke_X,

This happened to me also. Apparently the data packages are different for Blackberry and HTC. I phoned up VF and they told me that the data package had been changed when I made my contract renewal even though the phone isn't due till the 22nd. She changed it back to BB and asked me to follow the instructions on a text I would receive regarding re-registering the BB data service. She also asked me to give them a call when my HTC arrives to switch the data package back again.

Hope that helps ;-)

As ive mentioned a few times, you have to re set your browser to use the Voda Live access. Also, your bookmarks probably wont work as they are under the BB browser.

What ive done is have one set as a hotspot browser and the Voda Wap for access when ive not got WIFI.

Easy.

Went to CPW just now and they said they wont receive it until next week.
After that, I phoned another CPW nearby, they checked on computer, and are expecting delivery today/tomorrow.

It really does seem to be a different story depending on the IQ! ha

If you get a generic WWE HD the ROMs will always be available online as well as OTA so you can always get up-to-date easily enough

Luke_X,

You should have received a txt message with instructions on how to re-activate the BIS. If not try this:

BB Menu button
Options
Advanced Options
Host Routing Table
BB Menu button
Register Now

That re-registers your phone on to the network again and you'll probably get an email to each email account you have set up telling you it has been registered.
