Hey Snave! Is your Desire HD on Vodafone and is it stuffed full of bloatware? Did you get unlimited Internet/Data as well?
Yeah it's on Vodafone not a spot of bloatware though! Only thing with Vodafone's name on it is the usual Sim Services app that you have on every phone!
Yeah I got unlimited well I think it's 750mb, can't see me hitting that though as my Magic had 500mb and I never came close!

It is a bit gauling to see places like Phones4u selling Vodafone branded phones before the actual company can get their act together. Doesn't make any sense to me! I hope the delay isn't due to VF stuffing the phone full of ######!
Oh you just know its because of that, can hear them now saying "Let's put VF contacts in, also some software which will only be opened by accident, and change the homepage to VF"
Haha.

i think you have hit the nail right on the head there, the only way we are going to find out is to wait and see
when they come out,if the box is sealed with the original seal or another one on top of that.

I'm half tempted to cancel my order with VF and pop down my local p4u tomorrow. I'm starting a new contract anyway. The only reason I was getting it through VF was because of the cashback form Quidco. Hmmmm what to do?!

Just seen Phones4U website says they will deliver before 20th.
So Im now thinking the same, cancel my VF order, and go with phones4u.
I might pop into their shop at lunchtime, see what they say.
Im switching from o2 and iphone, had enough of it.

I ordered my online through Vodafone last week. I emailed vodafone this morning as I hadnt received an delivery information. And I was told they're out of stock, and would have to wait another 7-10 days.

Im in exact same situation as you, coming from o2 and iphone and going for the HD. Thinking of doing same and going P4U unless someone tells us any information on this.

Just went into a VF store in south london, and they said they expect the phones on or after the 22nd.
Then went to P4U, guy there says they're expecting minimal stock tomorrow, but thats only with Orange.
Sales guy on P4U website chat says if you order online today, it will be delivered by Wednesday.
But tarifs with P4U dont seem as good as the VF online tarifs.
So Im wondering if I just need to calm my inner demons, and be patient for a few more days.

Asked if ordered today do I get one of those batches and not another delay, he said yes, you will!
Comparing deals - this is what I went for
600mins - Unlim Txts - 500MB - Vodafone Internet - £30p/m (£99 for phone)
P4U offer
300mins - 3000 Txts - 500MB - £30p/m (Free Phone) + £60 cash back!
As I txt more than call, but would not exceed 3K p/m I am better off going with P4U I think.
Unless anyone points out a problem or query with the P4U deal

I can't see why they can't spend half an hour getting a confirmed answer then posting it on here to keep it's valued and dedicated forum users happy and up-to-date.
I would have thought the forum had dedicated 'managers' that not only updated us first but with 100% confirmed information

What's the SW version running on it? If it 1.28.405.1 then it's the SIM free version and not a Vodafone-branded one
EDIT: Seen a screen shot on XDA of one from P4U and it's on that version so it's SIM free...hence why it's out earlier
ROM: 3.14.401.31 (JRO03C)
HBOOT: 1.39.0000 | Recovery: Stock
Radio: 5.1204.162.29 | Kernel: Stock

He said he had 1 left and that he had sold 7 today!
Anyway, the guy wanted £185 for the phone (online it's Free) and then went on to say the reason they have them before VF is that they have come from the USA. It's the HTC Incredible over there and we have shipped them in.
When I said I'll stick with my online order he told me that the reason the online orders are so good, is that all the handsets are Refurbished!
As you would expect, i said ok mate, thanks. I'll stick with Vodafone! Lol. Muppet!
