HTC Desire - My Phone Shows "Limited Service" When Turned On

Hi

I have received my Desire and put the vodafone sim in the phone. The problem is that is says limited service and is not connecting to Vodafones network. My number from O2 is also being ported over so could this be the cause of it?

Also how do i found out my temporary number - until my old get number gets ported over.

Many thanks,

J..N

Should've been on the SIM card packet somewhere...you might have to activate the SIM if you got it on mailorder

as far as i am awere you will not have a temp number, you will have to wait for your number to port in then turn phone on and off and it will work

So I will have no service on my Vodafone sim at all until my number ports over? Will the sim card be activated when the number ports over or do I need to ring someone to activate it?

Hi there J.N.,

Thanks for posting...

The number that you have on 02 will simply become unusable on your 02 SIM and until then, then advice from the other guys is correct.

You Vodafone SIM will become active as your 02 SIM becomes inactive. There's no temporary number in the meantime. You can still use your 02 SIM in the Desire though!!

Cheers,
