I must admit that this is a strange one, to be honest in these situations there is one main check to perform and that is to try your SIM in another phone and another SIM in your phone.
If the issue follows the SIM then we know that it is the SIM that is the issue and a free replacement will be needed from your local store.
If the issue follows the handset, we will need to get you to send your phone off to us for a free of charge repair.
I'd give this a go first and let us know how you get on.

I tried that after I posted with an orange sim and I connected straight away then I put the Vodafone sim back in and it worked initially untill this morning when it stoped working again.
