How to remove pre instaled apps

How can I remove preinstalled apps such as "360 My Web", "360Shop", "360 Updates" and others?

I'll never use them, don't want them and didn't download them.

Thanks,

JK

They have made it so you cant. Its ###### but thats the way it is with branded phones im afraid. Pointless apps that are there to just make Voda a few quid. No one wants them but on this subject Voda dont listen to customers. It would be a lot better to just have them as optional from the market.

The only way to remove them (root) will invalidate your warranty and if you have a Sensation you cant properly do it yet anyway.

Re: How to remove pre instaled apps

They weren't on my first handset. That broke and I was given a refub unit with these pre installed.

What's annoying is that '360 Shop' auto launches as soon as task manager can kill it!

Well if you want to root the phone and put a custom rom on it Xda devs have everything you need. You can always put it back later by running the official Vodafone ruu if you need to send it for warranty repair.

Re: How to remove pre instaled apps

Hi jmk

I am sorry to say that the pre installed apps are not removable from the phone.

The only way to remove them is by the suggestion from cjm1979. I do need to advise that by doing this it could invalidate the warranty that is supplied by Vodafone.

Re: How to remove pre instaled apps

I feel your pain. I had unbranded, it broke, issued a refurb with all this ###### on it. Performance is appears worse on this branded version. I'm counting the days 'til I can cancel my contract...seems the only way I can get rid of VF bloatware, the shower of muppets

Re: How to remove pre instaled apps

Hi Martin,

Well that's a pathetic response from Vodafone.  You install garbage apps on my handset and then have no way of removing them without invalidating the warranty.  USELESS!!!!!

It's always been this way, affects all operator-branded handsets

Re: How to remove pre instaled apps

Not true Eddie.  My 1st HTC Desire HD didn't ship from Voda with this rubbish bloat-ware installed.  Only the replacement handset came with it!

That unit wouldn't have been operator-branded - it'd be a SIM-free model. My last comment was aimed towards branded units, which you have
