Syncing HTC Desire Gallery with Picasa

Having had a couple of android phones recently, I was suprised to find that my current Desire didn't sync with the online Picasa photos as the others did.

On the phone, the auto sync & background data items are checked as well as the Google icon in the Manage Accounts section. However I can only see 'sync contacts', 'sync gmail' and 'sync calendar' options under the Google heading. Should I also have one for Picasa?

There aren't any other options available under 'Menu' either!

Can anyone help out?

I use "I took this on my phone " free from the app store. It doesn't sync as such but will automatically upload your photos when you take them. You can set it to manual uploading too.

Thanks for that but I was after something to view what was already on picasa as opposed to being able to upload more things to it.

try the 'just pictures' app - better than the phone's gallery app IMO

Never really liked the Just Pictures app. What I use is the 3D gallery app from the N1 (found it on XDA Developers forum). This syncs with Picasa and looks just like its on your phone. A much better gallery than the htc one as well (although not as fast) and its the way the gallery should be working but for some reason htc left this functionality out. All I had to do was okay the Picasa sync option in the Settings menu

yeah, i used to use the N1 gallery, but found it stopped updating images after a while - that's when i switched to just pictures which seems much faster and also gets updates (unlike the N1 gallery app)

Syncing HTC Desire Gallery with Picasa

Hi Use your browser to go to Google, then, assuming you are auto logged in, press "more" and "photos" will appear in a drop down. Press that and you'll be taken to your Picasa account. to upload photos to it, go to Gallery, open the folder your pics are in then press the "share" button. Near the bottom of the list you'll see Picasa, press it then select the photos you want to upload. They will all be uploaded to your default folder in Picasa; there doesn't seem to be a way, yet, to change that. Hope this helps!
