Unable to connect to Vodafone Internet

I am having trouble connecting to the internet using my HTC Desire HD using the Vodafone network. While I can access via wifi with no issues it is not allowing any access to any internet sites or applications on 3G.

I called Vodafone but they weren't too helpful and said it might have something to do with coverage however when checking the current coverage on the website it states it is excellent in all areas I have been checking.

Can anyone assist?

Hi,

Not sure if tech support have already pointed you to this, but try updating your access point name ('APN') by going to 'settings', then 'wireless controls', then 'mobile networks', and lastly 'access point names'.  The next screen should list your APN(s). If there is nothing listed, this might explain the lack of data connectivity. Hit 'Menu', and then 'new APN'. Alternatively, if you already have an APN listed, select it, and edit the settings to match those below.

Settings if you're on Contract Internet with Voda:

Name: (whatever you want, but something like) Internet

APN: Internet
Username: web
Password: web

You shouldn't need to change any other settings. Remember to hit 'Menu' and then 'Save' before you quit.

If you want WAP settings instead:

APN: wap.vodafone.co.uk
Username: wap
Password: wap

Hope this helps! If not, voda customer support might need to enable the access point, or something. Good luck!
