Re: HTC One S

Hello Caliban

Thanks for your post. The pre-order system is a different system than the normal upgrade one that we use. Any phone that is on a pre-order isn’t available on the normal system until it’s released, as we don’t yet have stock this is why we use the pre-order system.

We can of course place pre-orders for upgrades but this does mean we have to use the pre-order system which will only allow us to pick the packages that are available online.

With our customers we look to get them the best possible deal we can, which means that we need to wait until the phone is available to order on the standard system so that we can alter the offer to each customers’ needs and wants.

I’d be more than happy to discuss this further with you if you wish, I’ve sent you a Private Message with information on how to reach us, once we reach your message we’ll be in touch. :smileyhappy:

You can find your PM inbox here.

Thanks

Amanda

[ Edited ]
Any idea on an actual VF launch date?

I think the tariffs are very much overpriced and not competitive at all against what else is out there.

Currently debating whether to send my iPhone 4s back as not taking to it do well and are an Android fan, but not sure now really unless the 'One S' deals are better...

Re: HTC One S

Having had the chance to have a play with the One S and One X on Friday at an HTC event I will say I was extremely surprised as to how good the One S is.

AMOLED screen is nice and vibrant, it weighs nothing at all and is VERY slim. Definitely a good phone to go for if not the One X

Re: HTC One S

Thanks Amanda, but I got a call from one of your colleagues over my PAC code request, and discussed the issue with him. I' aware of the reasons for the delay on upgrade availability. Prob hold on a week and see if the S pops onto the "other system".

Regards

Re: HTC One S

Hi A2a

We don't have a specific launch date for the device as yet. We are taking pre-orders currently with deliveries anticipated around the start of April although we've not had this confirmed.

If you'd like one of our team to contact you when the handset is available on general release for a more personalised deal then I've sent private message with details of how to contact us directly.

You can find your PM inbox here. If you can't access this link, please ensure that the box next to "Turn on private messages" is ticked on this page, and let us know if you need any further assistance.

Thanks

Simon

Re: HTC One S

I believe the specifications are wrong for this phone on vodafones website, it claims it has a micro sd slot but I'm pretty sure it doesn't.

Re: HTC One S

Just pre-ordered the HTC One S on Vodafone. Waiting to hear something about a date! Any news? :smileyhappy:

And please dont say "early april" :smileyvery-happy:

Just left Virginmobile to come here, they're too slow on new phones and software updates - I'm told Vodafone is one of the first usually?

Re: HTC One S

In some cases they are (e.g. Sensation) but usually unbranded handsets get the first, followed by the carrier

Re: HTC One S

Does that mean Vodafone will be sticking their logo on my HTC One S?

Re: HTC One S

Quite possibly, but initial deliveries might be unbranded (as has been the case in the past)

Re: HTC One S

Would Vodafone take a request for an unbranded device? :smileyhappy:

Also -

Preeti: Great news! The HTC One X and One S have now gone live for preorder. Both devices launch on Thursday 5th April. Full launch details will be with you next week

Re: HTC One S

Any plans to offer the black version which not only looks considerably better but also has a nicer tactility? My contract expired a few weeks ago and I was holding out for one of these but I am loathed to accept the grey version when I could walk into the store for another network, or general phone retailer and get the nicer version.

Re: HTC One S

Hi everyone.

Thank you for your posts, it is great to see the excitement around the new devices.:smileyhappy:

I wanted to confirm as that the devices do not have a slot for an additional memory card as asked previously and this will be amended on our website.

Moose3 - I am unable to confirm if we will be stocking any other colour variants but if you keep your eye on the coming soon this will be the first place for any news.

Many Thanks

Re: HTC One S

Anyone else having a nightmare gatting one of these from Vodafone?

I was tempted into a new VF contract last week by a  VF rep and was promised a One S would be sent out by courier on Monday. I was told that upgrade pre-orders are always fulfilled by VF before purchase pre-orders so my allocation was guaranteed. When nothing arrived on Monday VF told me they only got 5k units from HTC last week (is that small?) but a new consignment was coming on Tuesday and it was "definitely" being sent out for same day delivery then. I contacted them again yesterday PM and was reassured that the phone was now being sent today (wed) and that I would get a txt confirming this on Tues and then again first thing on Wed with my delivery time.  I have just spoken to them (7th time in 5 days?) as I have received no txts at all and, after the VF rep spoke to the warehouse/procurement team, have been told in no uncertain terms,

"we don't know when we are getting the HTC One S in stock now nor when you will get your upgrade"

Given that the phone is due to hit stores tomorrow and all the major retailers are still taking orders, it appears that VF is lower down the food chain than I thought.

Anyone looking to pre-order this from VF should probably think again..

Re: HTC One S

I have contacted them many times, too.

There really is no single version of the truth. Not sure how they can get away with advisors customers so many different pieces of info.

Re: HTC One S

Is there any way to request next-day delivery instead of the 4-5day option? I'm happy to pay the extra charge.
