Hi, strange problem with HTC One V, when I go into my contacts app/folder (or "people" as it's called) and add a new contact, the contact does not then appear in the list. If they phone or text, their name appears on that but still if I search for them in "people" they are not there?! Very confused. Any ideas/suggestions? Thanks.

This is a strange one, to be honest.

It would appear the handset is storing the number but not listing it on the phone.

Have you tried adding a further contact to see if the handset replicates the issue?

Hi Lee, yes tried it more than once and no new contact appears in my phone book yet like you say the phone is storing it somehow. Any ideas? Thank you.

Azul79 - I wonder if the problem is caused by a "view" set up on your phone. Go into your People App and at the top, where it says Phonebook, you will see a down arrow.  Press it and it will display the accounts you have set up. Try selecting and de-selecting the accounts and see if your new contacts appear.

Edit:  Forgot to add, when you create a contact, at the very top you should have an option that says Contact Type where you can select which account to create contact under.  I personally have all my contacts under my Gmail account - that way I have a back up of my contacts and any changes made on my phone sync to my Gmail automatically and visa versa!

Ah. You solved the problem. That's a bit embarrassing haha   I actually thought I had done this but when I tried it just now and selected google contacts, they appeared. Thank you very much :-)
