New sim is not working.

Hello,
I’ve just got my new HTC one x yesterday (11/04/2012) and I had the micro sim activated at approximately 20:00 the same day, I was told it should take an hour or so, at 11:00 today there was still no network coverage on my new phone and my old phone is still working and letting me make calls using the old sim.
I have contacted customer services by calling 191 and the person I spoke to told me that as far as they can tell my new card is registered and active, but as described above my new one isn’t connecting and the old one is still working so how can this be the case? is it a defective / broken micro sim?
Is anyone suffering from the same problem, or can anyone shed some light on why this may be? I can’t really leave my phones turned off till this is corrected as I need to use them for work.
Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Crowley1675
Thanks for your post and welcome to the eForum ![]()
It can take up to 24 hours for the number to transfer from your old SIM card to your new one although it is usually much quicker than this. As soon as we receive notification that you wish to change SIM cards the actual SIM number will update on your account and a footprint left on the notes that it has been changed.
Has the number now switched over or are you still encountering the same issue?
Thanks
Simon

It has been resolved now, I ended up finishing work early so I took my phone to the store, they said that they had had a few issues with other people's Sims having the same problems over a variety of model's however all had been activated on the sameday, so they issued me a new sim and registered it, this one was active before I left the store.
So it seems as though it was a system error on Vodafone's end for a few Sims that were activated on Wednesday.
