Won't work with my Mac

So here we go, on the website it says it works or sync with Mac.

Heres the truth, it doesn't. Or is it just mine. I am running Lion, and when I plug the phone in, my Mac says 'No harware found' even with Sync mate, it won't sync any contacts.

I am told they are working on a Mac version for there HTC Sync. but for now, how do I get music and pictures to and from my Mac?

Re: Won't work with my Mac

Another workaround is to use Gmail

Open Gmail on your Mac

Attach a music album to the email then save as a draft.

Open Gmail on your phone, go to Drafts and the email is there with the attachment.

Click on the attachment to Download it to your phone.

Do this with your phone connected to wifi.

Repeat this process for anything you want to move to your phone.

Re: Won't work with my Mac

I use Bluetooth to get photos/music/vids to & from my Mac. Not as quick as a cable, but pretty easy.

Re: Won't work with my Mac

Or....

You could use Dropbox

HTC have partnered with dropbox to offer HTC ONE X users 25GB of free storage.

Just install dropbox on your mac. Setup an account from your phone, choose what sort of things you want sync and how.

and away you go.

Or.....

You can use Google drive

Which is much the same but only offers 5GB of storage space free to all.

Hi animated

Thanks for your post. There's some great suggestions by our community members here, thanks guys :smileywink:

Unfortunately there isn't a card slot for external memory so if you're unable to connect the device to your MAC to transfer information then I'd recommend any of the above methods to transfer your data.

Thanks

Simon

Re: Won't work with my Mac

I'm also running lion on my mac and as long as I mount my HTC as a disk drive, not the default charge only, it pops up on my desktop as a portable storage device and I can see many of the files in folders.

To transfer music from iTunes I use the Easy Phone Tunes app. I keep all my contacts in my gmail account which automatically syncs between both phone and mac. For pictures I use dropbox both ways, automatically uploading them from the phone and also have folders that I put pictures from my mac in.

When sync manager is released and can be installed on the mac, I believe it will all get easier.
