Yes it will, but no one has any idea when other than 'early in 2012'

Hi skki3330

Currently we do not have a release date or even confirmation that we will be releasing it yet, however you can find some great information on our Frequently Asked Questions.

If you have any further queries please do not hesitate to post.

Many Thanks

Among the updates I am most interested in is Full Disk Encryption, I trust Vodafone will be ensuring this is fully functional

Oh and if Vodafone fail to release it in a timely manner I am sure there will not be a problem with me simply taking the HTC Sensation back to the Vodafone Retail shop and reject it under the Sale of Goods Act for a Full Refund :smileyhappy:

engadget has Bell releasing ICS for Sensation in Feb. Based on my experiences with Blackberry OSs from Vodafone, I'm not going to expect it anything like Feb!

Re: Andriod 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich for Senastion

Been running this on my Sensation for a week or so, its very much in the test stages and even when finally released 3rd party applications (like My Vodafone!) will need to be updated to more ICS compatible if they haven't already.

Considering its test and stock nature, its very very good so far and I am looking forward to seeing what HTC can do with it. Its currently on Sense 3.5 but its getting some nice refinements and might even get bumped to Sense 4.0 by the time it rolls around. We will have to wait and see.

Using it as my daily driver at the moment anyway, it has a few issues but it does reboot on me / crash etc.

I've just got the non-XE RUU so will be giving it a run in a bit, don't use my Sensation much since having the Galaxy Nexus

Think I am gonna stick to Sense on the Sensation and go with AOSP on the HD2. Just ordered a Vodafone PAYG sim to keep it ticking.

ICS Sense is on the Sensation, although it did brick my phone (and I mean full on hardware brick). Probably best to wait for the official release :smileyvery-happy:

Re: Andriod 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich for Senastion

Running it already, was already S-OFF, Super CID and HTCDev off, had no issues.

Love it, but looking forward to seeing what they can do between 3.12 and whatever they release.

Re: Andriod 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich for Senastion

In all honesty that response is not good enough, as a network you are always behind on software updates for all phones in general these days, and even when you do release them its buggy and has alot of room for improvement. We are paying customers and paying for a service that you are not providing in full. We would like an official date or rough timescale as to when to expect the update to push through seen as other prividors already have the update rolling out, and the non network branded handsets are receiving theirs as we speak. You should either step up your game and provide better software support or start and sell unbranded handsets so we dont have to wait.

Re: Andriod 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich for Senastion

No other providers have the update - it's currently unbranded handsets only.

With regards to the Sensation Vodafone were AHEAD of the unbranded handsets on the last update so you may wish to rethink your answer :smileyhappy:

Re: Andriod 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich for Senastion

So, I just received an email from the HTC Sensation Forum confirming that HTC are starting rolling out Android 4 to a number of handsets including Sensation.

How long will it take Vodafone to enable this to be rolled out to its Sensation users? Will it be an OTA update?

Re: Andriod 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich for Senastion

It'll be OTA - about 290MB in size (so use WiFi)

As for how long until Vodafone push it - no idea!

Re: Andriod 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich for Senastion

Vodafone will never post dates - just a generic link to the 'firmware policy'

It'll be released when it's ready

ICS Update

So I just had a VF update alert on my Sensation. According to that it was optimizing my phone for Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. Just wondered if anyone else has had the same?
