Just a general question. If I use BT fon, with whom I'm registered to access the internet, does that data count against my Vodafone inclusive contract mbs?

BT Fon, as I understand it is for when you are out and about. It is a Wifi service, and thus won't count against vodafone data
allowance, as you won't be routing the traffic over the vodafone 2/3g infrastrure.
BT Fon generally lets you be connected for a certain length of time (or data transfer) before they will start to bill you.

Thanks for that. So does Wildfire (in my case) automatically switch services when the BT app is logged in?
My reason for asking is that yesterday I was charged 83p by vodafone for downloading an app whilst in a cafe logged in to BT openzone

Hi Mygeneration,
Many thanks for your post here.
Basically you shouldn't get any data charges from us if you are fully connected to the BT site via WIFI, when it comes to the BT WIFI I would always connect to the site then load a normal web page to fully make sure that you are logged in as it should display a login page on the internet when you are connected.
If you have done this then it should show as WIFI correctly connected and the data will bypass the Vodafone network.
