BTopenzone

Hi,

I have recently joined on a monthly contract which comes with 500mb of btopenzone wifi access included in my price plan, but when I connect using the internet app on my htc wilfire s it sends me to btopenzone page where they are asking me to pay for access! Then if I ignore this page and try to connect to a bookmark I have stored it just comes up with web page not available message.

Have I missed out on a setting up step when I got the phone a couple of weeks ago?

Does anyone have any idea where I am going wrong?

I can connect to my home network using wifi & the internet app but not using btopenzone. The signal strength for btopenzone is strong/full on in the symbol at the top of the screen.

Any guidence would be gratefully apprieciated.

Re: BTopenzone

Two things here.

Have you registered for a Vodafone online account??

You need to as its the username and password you use here that you need to access the BT Openzone wifi.

Second is what type of BT Openzone hotspot are you trying to connect to??

You can only use the premium ones, such as in Starbucks etc. The BT Fon ones etc you cant use. If theres no odafone icon to click on your on the wrong type of hotspot. Thers an app you can get that tells you the types and where they are from BT and Vodafones own app My vodafone also has a wifi finder too.

Re: BTopenzone

Hi,

Yes I do have an account, but I called V support and they said hotspots are mainly in the cities and the one I was connecting too is not one of them (I live in the countryside)

Thanks for the info, I can just use 3g to access when I am out and about locally (even that is patchy where I am....

Cheers,

Glenn.
