Any one using this app?

I used this app last weekend mountain biking in Scotland, the phone had approx 80% battery life and after 2 hour ride, it was down to 30%.

Is this normal?

Had a Blackberry previously with this apps and it hardly had an impact using this apps.

BlackBerry's have a much better battery than most other smartphones so taking such a hit is to be expected

Need to invest in a car charger then!

Would GPS work if I put it into airplane mode? If so how much battery can be saved in 2 hours?
