Gallery Problem

Since the ICS update I've had a problem with viewing pictures in my gallery (HTC Sensation Z710e). When I pinch to zoom or double tap to zoom, the screen just goes black. Before the ICS update it was perfectly fine. Is there a way to fix this?

I've only had the phone a couple of weeks and the ICS update seems to have been a backward step in terms of how the phone responds :smileysad:

Re: Gallery Problem

Hi Colibun

Thanks for your post. It's not something that we've yet come across from the ICS update. So just to be clear, all of your images have copied over to gallery OK, it's just that zooming in on your pictures doesn't work?

We have noticed that with some of the little buggy errors that a reboot of your phone by simply switching it off an on a couple of times has helped to resolve these issues. Alternatively just to check if the ICS update has caused the error try rolling back the firmware and trying the feature then. If it works OK then return to ICS and check again. I know that seems a little long winded, however the only other alternative from this point would be repair under warranty.

Please let me know how you get on.

Thanks

Simon

Re: Gallery Problem

I had exactly the same issue with zooming....but it seems to have fixed itself. I just tried it again after reading this and it worked fine for the first time since upgrading.

Simon, you mentioned rolling back the firmware. I would very much like to do that because of the problems with Exchange email (See other thread), how is it done?

Re: Gallery Problem

I think its because the Gallery App needs to rebuild its cache due to the ICS upgrade. You can clear the old cache by going to Manage Apps > Gallery then clear Data.

I quite like the HTC Sense Gallery app actually but if you want a good free replacement, then try out QuickPic ^_^
