I recently upgraded my contract/phone to a HTC 7 Trophy. Because it is a upgrade once I recieved my new phone all I did was stick my current SIM card to it.

Sometimes when someone calls me I can hear them talk but they cannot hear me when I talk. This goes the same when I try to call them back they cannot hear my voice when I talk. I temporalily fixed this problem by switching it off and turning it back on and I tried calling and they can hear me. AND I have increased the volume.

But just recently I got a phone call and the caller cannot hear me. This is getting frustrating I have tried calling my customer service and they couldnt hear me as well!

Does anyone else have the same problem? Is it the phone or the network?

As it happens at different times to both listening and hearing its kinda hard to say what it is really, u could try going in store and asking them to swap the sim. As u said its an existing one that could b failing, or it just might be the phone but swapping sims will narrow down further. There has been issue with htc phones and the speaker or mic not working, u could try a few different methods like reflash software or hard resets but as its new i'd take it back if within 7 days and see if it can be exchanged.

ive been having the same problem as yourself with my phone since yesterday and cannot fiind a solution either.Im sure its not the phone as ive placed my sim into another phone and the problem is still there.

Thanks for your post here. I'm sorry to hear that you are having problems with this. I can appreciate how frustrating this must be for you.

I can see that welshrosco has given you some great suggestions with this. What I think you should do first of all is to try the SIM card in another handset. This will then tell you if the problem is with the SIM or with the phone.

Thanks for the replies, I did not have this problem on my old phone so perhaps it could be just the phone. I may have to contact HTC.

If it is the SIM card then can I get a new one for free as well as keep the same number? This one is kind of dirty and old.

Yes you'd be able to get a new SIM card for free and the new SIM would just be swapped with your old one. Theres no need to change your number at all

You can get one by either calling 191 or popping into a Vodafone store
