Re: HTC EVO 3D

Thought you guys would like to see the email I just recieved from  Vodafone

An update on the HTC EVO 3D

Dear MR ************,

We’re contacting you to advise that due to delays in the launch of the HTC EVO 3D, we no longer intend to include the device in our smartphone range.

We realise this might come as a disappointment, but don’t worry! We've already got some fantastic phones available through our online shop, and there are some really exciting handsets in the pipeline. Keep an eye on our coming soon section for all the latest information about the products coming to Vodafone.

And don’t forget that when you join Vodafone you get access to Vodafone VIP, which gives all our customers the chance to get tickets to some of Britain’s best events. Whether you’re into fashion, festivals or Formula 1TM, it’s our way of saying thank you for being a Vodafone customer. Find out more at vodafone.co.uk/vip.

Thank you

Vodafone

Re: HTC EVO 3D

yep gpt the same email.  This sucks soooo bad :-(

Cant find anymore information out about this phone.  Nowhere is saying they are stocking it.  Spoke to all major Phone retailers again this morning and they are still all in the complete dark about this.  I have the feeling this may be not coming to these shores for a very long time (if at all) :-(

Oh well LG have just gained a new customer :-)

Re: HTC EVO 3D

Patience young padawan.

Don't go and buy the LG for the sake of a month.   It really is an inferior phone.   Personally I wouldn't want to be stuck with a lesser spec'd phone for 24 months.

Each to their own I guess, but think on...

Re: HTC EVO 3D

It is also up as coming soon, register your interest on CPW...

Don't know how long it has been up for?

Still says expected date as September and I think most people have now accepted that that is what it will be.

Re: HTC EVO 3D

If they'd only waited a few weeks. Its here now.

Why do they say they listen to their customers but yet do this?? Even with all the other sh...y phones they have on sale, I dont see how they could say they decided not to get it because theres other new phones coming out soon. doesnt make sense

Re: HTC EVO 3D

Just ordered mine! CPW took stock today and I managed to upgrade without a hitch, I was one of the first to call them about it and the person on the other end told me it was out of stock until I told her it is listed on the website and she double checked.

Call for your upgrade on 08700870870

I should have my hands on it tomorrow - pleased I never went for the LG3D now! :smileyhappy:

Once I've had a play I'll come post a few thoughts, answer any questions.

Re: HTC EVO 3D

Assuming you have the unbranded handset the FW build will be 1.20.401.2 and here's the RUU should you ever wish to flash the stock FW from scratch:

Handy if you decide to go down to rooting route :smileywink:

Re: HTC EVO 3D

I will indeed be rooting it.

I am still not a fan of Sense (rooting will see to that being truley removed!) but otherwise very pleased with my purchase.  A good phone all round, you wont be disappointed if you've been waiting for it.

Re: HTC EVO 3D

Could someone confirm that the EVO 3D is definitely not coming out on Vodafone. I've just joined Vodafone and am very impressed so want to get a contract for the girlfriend with Vodafone, but the only phone she wants is the EVO 3D!

Re: HTC EVO 3D

You can get it on Vodafone, go to any shop other than a Vodafone store. You then get the unbranded version so no waiting on updates from Vodafone!

Re: HTC EVO 3D

Hi alex_gregory_uk,

As it stands we will no longer be stocking the HTC EVO 3D ourselves.

You can, as the guys here have demonstrated, buy the handset from a third party supplier - if you do, please note that any insurance or maintenance issues need to be directed to them as the supplier directly, although we'll be more than happy to offer any support we can from the information we have.

We do still offer a great range ourselves, though, so if you want to take a look and see what our upgrades team can offer, let us know and we'll get you speaking with them. It may not be the 3D, but they may be able to find the perfect alternate deal for you.

Dave

Re: HTC EVO 3Dii i f

I always find it lame when Vodafone answer on this saying if were not happy that the evo 3d isn't available, why not look at their great range of other phones. If someone wants a 3d phone, nothing in that great range will be suitable. Why don't they get that? We are looking for a specific phone and they can't provide it. Well, they pulled away from being able to supply it. In today's recessionary times, that's a bad customer retention move if you ask me.
