HTC Legend - Slowdown And Freezing After FroYo Update

I updated my phone about 24 hours ago now, and so far my phone has been going from running very fast, faster than 2.1, to running VERY slow to the point of being unusable, and it has on more than one occasion frozen and then rebooted itself. Annoyingly it seems to be running slow more than it does fast.
I wasn't having any of these issues before installing FroYo so I'm guessing it's the update that caused it. Has anyone else had these problems, or can see what could be the solution to them?
Thanks.

I was thinking that maybe it could've been some sort of sync issue, as as soon as I restarted my phone after taking the battery and SIM out my inbox suddenly found 5 new emails it didn't see before. I had also notice the little sync icon appearing a lot more than normal in the notification area before, although that could just be something totally unrelated.

i agree with the first comment on this topic. after waiting a while for 2.2 (froyo) i was highly excited to see that my beloved Legend was finally getting an upgrade.
whilst running 2.1 using a third party app killer would reveal 170-200M memory available, but now running 2.2 doing the same reveals nothing above 150M memory available, i know these "app killers" offer up a placebo effect. but i find it hard to believe that 2.2 isn't flawed as scrolling the menus, using the keyboard, generally everything is slower.
i have tried factory resetting but to no avail...
any suggestions?
i'm hoping 2.2 to the legend isn't what vista was to the pc.
many thanks

If you have memory free, what's the problem? What are you going to do with all that free ram? Better to use it than not.
Menus and so on feel faster to me. You could try turning off animations (Menu-->Settings-->Display-->Animations) and see if that helps. All mine are on though and it's well sporty. Had a slow period right after install, but I think it was still up to stuff, caching or something because after a while and a reboot it was fast as you like.
Benchmarks show 2.2 can be two or three orders of magnitude faster for some uses than 2.1. That's hardly XP-->Vista!

Like the OP, at first 2.2 was faster but over the last 2 or 3 days it has started to stutter and freeze more and more to the point where I've missed calls through being unable to answer them, and each button press can take seconds to produce a response.
I'll keep an eye on it after the reboot and see if the problems return.

Hi
Since updating I have had problems within 24 hours, there is numerous problems with texting, keys appear sticky with delay of showing letters on the screen, space bar sticks for up to 5 seconds at a time, Sync icon showing all the time, force closing on some applications and on the phone in general. Freezing when trying to answer or make a call, and missing calls through not being able to answer as the touch screen will not work. The overall speed of the phone has slowed right down
It just doestn seem to be working properly at all. And on connection to pc, when open up the files onphone half were not there, and had to add a music file back onto the phone. Really dissapointed as I love the legend and had no problems prior to this. Any suggestions?

Hi all
We did have a few people advising of this issue, after the latest firmware update. ![]()
I have already raised this with our devices team to investigate, along with several examples. We are still awaiting a conclusion to this testing, but any updates will get placed onto the main thread here.
Asthis thread is discussing the same issue as the other, I am going to close this one off, and ask you to add any further comments onto the linked thread.
