Re: HTC Legend - Stock update from 2.1 to 2.2 Battery % Problem

I have the same problem with my HTC Legend. I thought it was a battery issue, and so far from Vodaphone I've received a new battery charger sent in error to charge the battery that doesn't hold a charge; a new battery which is for the Sensation, not the Legend; I cannot be without the phone as it opens security gates at my place of work, as well as being a safety device to provide me help when working alone etc.

Would be grateful to here if there is a solution to the problem as Vodaphone will not supply me with a new phone, but at the same time cannot send me the correct bits.

Re: HTC Legend - Stock update from 2.1 to 2.2 Battery % Problem

Is anything happening with this issue?

My wifes Legend can be charged all night - she can use it once and then it starts begging for the charger again. It's rubbish. I think our renewal date is September. Crap phones .. really crap. I'd prefer a brick that works than an HTC Legend. 24 months bound to their hardware is a bad experience.

p.s. someone fix my bleedin Suresignal. It's not worked for days in spite of being reset!!

moan moan moan not happy etc.

Re: HTC Legend - Stock update from 2.1 to 2.2 Battery % Problem

Had nothing better to do yesterday whilst shopping so called into my newly refurbished Vodafone branch to explain the situation to them once again re the problems with my HTC legend. I was typically greeted by the sales assistant all smiles and politeness (probably thought I wanted to purchase a phone). The smiles faded as soon as I told him in fact it was a complaint I had and informed him of the problems I have been having with my handset, He assured me that there was NO problem at all with the Legend as his brother has had one for over 2 years without a hint of trouble!!! I then went on to explain that this forum and its administrators had been made aware of the situation and his reply was "The vodafone forum has nothing to do with the shops"  I then went on to explain that Vodafone themselves had acknowledged there was a problem and he asked me to bring the handset in so it could be sent away to be repaired, Itold him that no amount of sending away and repair was going to resolve the situation and asked could I have an alternative handset and was told only if I upgrade................. I dont want to upgrade. My contract runs out in September and I will never ever be using Vodafone or HTC ever again, very poor  customer service and arrogant shop staff

Re: HTC Legend - Stock update from 2.1 to 2.2 Battery % Problem

I have to admit - having the early upgrade option taken away from us was a kick in the pants. The way it was done was underhand. I take an immediate dislike to being treated like that.

As support on this issue has been so poor, I'm considering alternatives now. I was bound to Vodafone because of the need for a suresignal - but as a) The suresignal hasn't worked for a week and b) 3 mobile are now doing something similar - it means I have genuine options to think about in September.

I'm not saying the grass is greener - but I wouldn't have left 3 last time if they had a suresignal.

Re: HTC Legend - Stock update from 2.1 to 2.2 Battery % Problem

Thought it was about time I pitched in to this. My Legend battery has gone downhill fast in the last few months. It will not charge unless switched off, which means I don't get important business calls. If I charge it switched on it, as soon as I remove the charger it tells me to reconnect it. When switched off it never manages more that an 80% charge. Just been looking on Amazon for a new battery but unhappy about spending money on a contract phone, surely I should get it fixed by Vodaphone.

Re: HTC Legend - Stock update from 2.1 to 2.2 Battery % Problem

On the 4/6/2012 I recieved a message from DaveCD a mod on this site asking me to respond to a pm that would ask me to fill in a contact form and give an ident code of the problems I have been experiencing. I responded Immediatley and the end of the message says that my complaint would be responded to WITHIN 48 HOURS we are now at almost 96 hours and guess what no response, I have therefore taken the decision to cancel my direct debit with immediate effect, this was not taken lightly but on the advice of the consumer rights advisor I can actually do this as the goods are "NOT FIT FOR PURPOSE". Like I said in earlier posts bad customer service and I will never deal with Vodafone as a company ever again

Hi posiedonmartin

Thank you for your post and a very warm welcome to the eForum.:smileyhappy:

This sounds as though the device may have a different fault, please take the device to your local store and one of our experts will be able to take a look and advise you of your best options or alternatively we can arrange a postal repair.

Hi klassyklaws

Thank you for your post, I have checked and can see that the routing code in the subject line was slightly different from that requested in the PM and subsequently did not reach us here however I have found the email chain and will be in touch shortly.

Cancelling a Direct Debit often leads to further complications and I strongly advise against this.

Many Thanks

Re: HTC Legend - Stock update from 2.1 to 2.2 Battery % Problem

Hello -

My wife is still really struggling with this issue. She can charge her phone all night and have next to no battery in the morning. If she uses it for more than a couple of minutes the phone dies.

It's absolutely useless and she's paying you monthly for the privilege.

Can you PLEASE just send her a replacement handset - because at the moment you're taking money for nothing.

Her moaning is starting to get me down now.

Hidannyboy1121,

Thanks for your post here.

We did test this issue and our devices teams were able to replicate the issue which seemed to have been caused by the battery.

Unfortunately we can’t send a replacement handset however we can see if there is anything we can do in regards to a new battery for her.

So we can do this I have sent you a quick PM, please ask follow the instructions on the PM that I have sent and we can take a look at this for you.

However, if it is in her name then you will need to get her to do this and we will then be able to discuss the issue with her directly.

You can find your PM inbox here.

Re: HTC Legend - Stock update from 2.1 to 2.2 Battery % Problem

Yep, I too am a long suffering owner of a Vodafone HTC Legend: my HTC Legend will not fully charge and loses its charge faster than ever. It only ever charges up to about 60% max and then will be down to red on the power gauge after mere minutes of normal use! I've had the problem for a while and have tried everything - nothing works. I've called Vodaphone support but they only suggest sending it in (which I dont want to do as I'll be without a phone - as i've no home phone) or getting a new battery (which, going on the hundreds of similar posts on the web, isn't going to solve anything).

Please Vodafone/HTC, work something out!

Re: HTC Legend - Stock update from 2.1 to 2.2 Battery % Problem

Am I missing something here (it's quite possible as I'm new to this forum) but I have the same issue with my HTC Legend, though I had no idea it was linked to the upgrade to 2.2 - just a coincidence that it started the day after the update...

Anyway, I was amazed to get presented with this page which announces that the issue has be SOLVED

Great, what's the solution then?

Hangon, that just linked me to part-way through the thread and isn't a solution at all...

Does that mean that the issue has been CLOSED without a solution?

Re: HTC Legend - Stock update from 2.1 to 2.2 Battery % Problem

Hello guys,

I am really struggling with this same issue, which I know is not a battery issue, as despite purchasing a battery for my HTC Legend, the problem remained.

I too can charge my phone all night and have next to no battery in the morning. If I use the phone for more than 10 minutes, the battery level goes red, and after 15 mins the phone dies, and turns itself off. It's absolutely useless as a phone, let alone using the internet or social media and I'm paying over £35 per month for a non-functioning handset.

I have been putting up with this problem for several months now, but it has not improved and I am really fed up.

Vodaphone Can you PLEASE  contact me about my options, such as cancelling my contract or a free upgrade?
