HTC One Mini 2 - no bluetooth visibility toggle?

I've been using the bluetooth on my One Mini 2, and it seems to work OK, but though it's easy enough to toggle bluetooth on or off, there doesn't seem to be a way to have bluetooth on but toggle all-device visibility off. When bluetooth is on, the device is permanently visible to 'all nearby devices'.

On my old One S, I could toggle bluetooth visibility between all devices and paired devices, and set a timeout for 'all devices' visibility. Has this been removed on the One Mini 2 ?

OK - I've discovered the reason for the apparent bluetooth security issue. It's actually a clever idea from HTC on both the One M8 and the One Mini 2 that only makes the phone discoverable when it's in the bluetooth settings menu. As soon as you leave that settings page, it reverts to being visible to paired devices only. No need for a toggle or a timeout.

Pity they didn't tell anyone - people have been worrying about this since they launched!
