It was my 5th phone on contract from Vodafone always paying bills and never had problems. Is there anything like emergency insurance? As heartbreaking as it could possible be, I would very much doubt that Vodafone would replace your broken phone, it would come under having insurance for accidental damage.

Vodafone would have already heavily subsidised an expensive phone and would not have even recovered the cost or even started to make a profit.

How about speaking to your home insurance provider?

If it was damaged in the home (and it was an accident) you may be able to claim.

I know my wife was able to get the screen on her iPhone replaced under insurance after it cracked in the house..

Hi revollucion and welcome to the eForum

I’m sorry to hear about your phone, I understand how annoying this must be for you.

Ann is spot on I’m afraid, we wouldn’t be able to replace your handset unless you had insurance on your account.

We wouldn’t be able to early upgrade your account either as you are simply too far away from the end of your contract.

One option would be to pay the early termination fee for you contract which would then free you for an upgrade. This works out like so;

Monthly amount x Remaining number of months on contract – VAT – 2% discount = Early Termination fee

Your other option would be to claim via your home insurance.

Please let me know if you have any more questions and we’ll be happy to help you further.

Thanks

Wayne

Do read what iftikar666 has said, a lot of home insurances will cover mobile phones, so before you just give up, at least give it a go!
