HTC Sensation - screen not responsive

Hello,

I'm experiecing issues with my phone not being very responsive. I've had it 2 weeks now and it's great but no having problem. The unlock ring won't budge! It's soooo frustrating, I have to really try hard to put my finger on the top of the ring in order to unlock.Previously I would put my finger on the bottom of the phone between the menu and the back shortcut, and simply slide my finger up. But no I really have to look where my finger is going.

Also I've had issues where only 3 of the 4 buttons actually work, you know how it slightly vibrates when pressed? Well the back arrow button doesn't vibrate.

Any ideas?

Dan

Re: HTC Sensation - screen not responsive

Only time i have found the vibration missing from the capacitive buttons is when it enters power save mode.

My lock screen is fine tho, i dont even need to touch the ring, just draw a short line from bottom to top.

Re: HTC Sensation - screen not responsive

Same problem here. Sometimes hard to unlock the phone, also just after unlock back button is not responsive for 5-10 seconds. Another thing, on dial pad, digits 9 and 0 are not responsive sometimes. Problem seems to be getting worse by the day. Only had phone for 11 days, so not keen to send it for repair, I would rather just have another unit. Will do factory restore, and if it doesn't work, it's customer service time.

Also, yellowish tint is present on the screen.

I would appreciate if any mod could confirm wherever it's possible to get replacemnt unit instead of going through warranty pallaver.

Thanks.

Re: HTC Sensation - screen not responsive

yea - that's the exact same thing. 0-9 need to be pressed a couple of times. Just done a factory restore and it's the same, no different.

I've rang CS and they're sending a replacement out. I must say, the lady I spoke to was incredibly helpful.

Ok, thanks a lot mate, kudos to you, saving me time to mess around with reset. Didn't they tell you to send it to repair?

Re: HTC Sensation - screen not responsive

Nope she just simply said she'll arrange a replacement cos I've only had it 2 weeks. I'm sure theres a fault, it doesn't feel like a software issue. Seeems to be the screen. Saying that I suppose there could well be a bug in the software causing it, it does seem to be getting worse. Glad I could help!

(other than this issue - kickass this phone!!)

OK, just called CS, and they said that as I got my phone from the store, I need to go back there to get replacement. Weirdly, buttons operate ok at the moment. :smileysurprised:

oh rubbish - Well I hope you get it changed in store. Even if it is working at the minute I'd still get it swapped out if pos - it'll only start again prolly.

Re: HTC Sensation - screen not responsive

Do you still have your Sensation? Try removing back cover and putting it back on out of interest. Also, I used to have yellowish tint, that seems to be gone. Looks like screen got burnt out or something. I mean its ok now.

Re: HTC Sensation - screen not responsive

I would like to get moderators opinion here. Shall I still go to the shop and request a new unit or shall i wait and see if problem occurs again?

Hi tinky1

I can see that you and DanMas having a good conversation, it is always good when actual users share there opinions of the phone and experiences.

My personal opinion would be to change the phone, if there is a fault, I can't see it just disappearing unless you did a factory reset.

As you got it from a store, that is where the exchange would need to take place.

Re: HTC Sensation - screen not responsive

Thanks Martin.

I had my phone for about  12 days now, so i can't just go back and request another unit. Also, it's performing ok at the moment, it looks like its intermittent fault so i won't be able to convince assistants that it's faulty, unless it coincidentally happens when i'm in the shop.

Any advise?

Kind regards

Re: HTC Sensation - screen not responsive

It did happend again a few times, so problem is there. As i mentioned before, it's very random, so how can i prove there is a fault? Is there anything you guys could do about it? Don't really want to go to the shop only to find that at the given time it's working ok and i look like a right idiot.

Re: HTC Sensation - screen not responsive

I've have this exact same problem, the unlock ring just stutters, and takes a few attempts to unlock.

Very frustrating indeed

Another update. It's getting worse. Now screen hang in call sometimes, back button gets stuck more and more, screen wouldn't light up in call when i needed dial pad once. Hope i can replicate it in the shop.

EDIT: Did factory reset, no good. Still the same.

Hi tinky1,

If you've had the handset in your possession for more than 7 working days, then I'm afraid we are unable to replace the handset. Instead, you will have to follow the standard repairs process.

For more information, please follow the link to find out about a Vodafone Repair.

Warmest regards,
