HTC Sensation slow running clock since ICS installed

Since installing ICS my clock now has a habit of running 10 minutes slow, I remember having this problem when I first got Sensation 12 months ago, with quite a few other people having same problem, now with ICS installed seems to have happened all over again, have left it a bit as other people reported this problem as well from installing ICS and just thought Vodafone would have come up with a fix for it by now, but can't see any fixes for it yet!!! Considering everything these phones do i'm surprised that getting the clock to work correctly is proving such a problem.

So any ideas when this will be fixed?

Hi jimbob1971

Thanks for your post here. I’m sorry to hear that you’re having this issue. I appreciate how frustrating this must be for you.

I can see a couple of reported issues on the internet however, nothing substantial.

We’ll be happy to get this raised. We just need a couple more examples of this from other users. Once we have this we’ll pass the information on for investigation.

Thanks

Wayne

Re: HTC Sensation slow running clock since ICS installed

I have a similar problem with the One S:

http://forum.vodafone.co.uk/t5/HTC-One-S/Wrong-time-shown-on-automatic-date-amp-time/td-p/1080943

It seems to only happen when I'm connected to the Wifi at work (the eduroam network).  Does your run slow all the time?

+1. doesn't run 10 mins slow (just a couple) and I can fix for a while by switching off 'use network time', correcting the time manually, then switching 'use network time' back on.

does 'use network time' work on ics?

Re: HTC Sensation slow running clock since ICS installed

When my alarm went off this morning I was 15 minutes late. When I checked the clocks in the house and my watch etc I noticed that it was my phone, it was 15 minutes slow. I turned it off and then back on again and it was still wrong but after a couple of minutes it had put itself right. I'm really nervous that it's going to happen again and I'm going to be late for work.

Re: HTC Sensation slow running clock since ICS installed

I also have this problen since upgrading, It causes text messages to show In the Incorrect chonoligical order and as expected the wrong time and alarm etc.

From a quick scan of the boards, It appears It's not just limited to the HTC brand either.

Some positive urgent feed back on this would be good, as Its 2 of the features I widely use, making the phone next to useles for me.

Re: HTC Sensation slow running clock since ICS installed

Hi tech team,

I'm having this issue too - I've switched off all the automatic update options and simply set it manually, but it keeps readjusting itself to being around 20mins slow.

I've restarted a couple of times and it makes no difference.

Plenty of people are reporting this - see for example: http://androidforums.com/htc-sensation/526449-slow-running-clock-since-ics-update.html

Please advise a fix asap as we're all starting to run very late for things!

Ta,

Fiona

Re: HTC Sensation slow running clock since ICS installed

Hi Lee,

Per thread title, it happens with the ICS update, so that's 3.32.161.11.

Re: HTC Sensation slow running clock since ICS installed

I have exactly the same problem with my HTC Sensation, since upgrading to ICS, on the Eduroam wifi network at work.

Re: HTC Sensation slow running clock since ICS installed

Other ROMs e,g, MIUI jellybean don't have this issue. Can't see how it's anything other than a software issue with 3.32.161.x
