HTC Titan X310e

Got a Vodafone HTC Titan X310e and the signal has always been poor. Its got worse recently. Online there are forums about GRIP OF DEATH problems and signal quality from Vodafone. Does anyone else have a similar problem. I am currently in Glasgow area and according to Vodafone website in s good signal area. In work I cannot get a signal althought the company mobiles do (but not a great signal and they drop calls when walking around factory).

Been trying to contact thru email but since last friday I have been getting a message saying this service is currently faulty and try again later. After 5 days I thought it should have been fixed.

Not happy with phone, vodafone or customer service received so far so eforum is my last hope before canceling direct debit!

Re: HTC Titan X310e

1). Does the issue happen in just one location?

No. This happens at work-home-all surrounding areas.

2). Does the issue occur if you try your SIM card in a different phone?

Signal still poor on HTC Wildfire although better than Titan.

3). Can you check your coverage here? Please bear in mind that this is only a guideline and can never be 100% accurate, particularly for indoor coverage.

Signal at current location not great according to map but house and surrounding area is good.

4). Can you check our Faults Board, which contains all the mast issues we’re aware of.

Possible mast fault at ome area but not at work area. G72 Glasgow mast. Problems been seen before date stated on website for mast issue and previous emails about signal before that date have been sent.

5). Does this issue happen on 2G/3G or both. To check this, you can amend your phone's network settings, our Help Centre contains all the instructions, just select your model of phone and then select "network".

Will try this later in house for confirmation.

6). What is the full postcode of where the issue occurs (if you’re uncomfortable with this appearing on the forum, then please add it to your profile by clicking “My eForum Settings” on the front page and then selecting “Personal Information”

G72 7YN is home address. G75 0YF is work address. Doesnt work at G72 9LU either.

7). How far you have to travel to get signal

Struggle with signal most places I travel and get No Service displayed on screen frequently.

8). Do you get any error messages/tones if you’re having problems with calling/texting

No. Have had problems with them not hearing me. Problems with nobody hearing at all. Problems mainly with no signal to begin with!

Have included two photos showing the difference in signal in exactly the same place simply by holding phone! I cannot get an H signal anymore at all and the G signal disappears when holding. I believe the phone is faulty or inadequate and the signal from vodafone is not up to a standard I believed I would get when signing contract.

Re: HTC Titan X310e

Further more, while in Glasgow city center last night I managed 5 bars in signal but could still not be heard on other side of phone when wife called me. She said is sounds all muffled and delayed and cannot make out what is being said.

Re: HTC Titan X310e

Hi bertybhoy

I’m sorry to hear about the problems you are having in those areas. There are definitely no problems with the network in any of the three postcodes you have given me. These areas are simply patchy for signal, especially G72 9LU.

This doesn’t explain why your signal drops when you hold the phone though. I think there may be a problem with your handset that means it will need to be sent away for repair. For more information on this have a look at our Vodafone Repairs Thread.

Thanks

Wayne
