I have just checked my online usage and it appears that my HTC trophy is using WAP every night at midnight. I have checked this forum and users with android and iphones are experiencing this as well. Therefore, please don't tell me that it is an app, because it clearly isn't.
I am not happy about my internet allowance being frittered away like this. The phone shouldn't be using WAP anyway as it is connected to WIFI when I am at home.
In all the other threads I have read about this, there has not been a satisfactory solution. Please can you sort this out, otherwise I will be cancelling my contract as you are applying mysterious charges, which according to Ofcom is a acceptable reason for early cancelation.

This has come up a few times, your online bill may show the total usage for a day as being done at 00:00 but you will notice that there is no other usage throughout the day.
Another thing to note, when a device goes into being locvked it may no longer connect to WIFI and will resort to using the mobile network instead of the WIFI point, this could also be why you are being charged if you are seeing data usage at midnight.
I know this is so with the iPhone i cant remember if this happened when i had a Trophy or not but if it did then its a hardware/software feature with windows phone 7 as it is with other operating systems.

I understand what you are saying. Most days however, my phone doesn't leave the house, so it shouldn't be using wap at all unless, as you say, it drops the wifi under the lock screen. Not very good if that is the case. I am going to try turning off my data connection until after midnight tomorrow and see if I get any charges.
It used to be the case that each data connection was itemised on the bill with the exact time of connection. This was much more useful. Why change it Vodafone?
Also, why is there no way to check how much of my monthly data allowance has been used in My Account? The only way I can do it is to add up each days usage. Not very practical. It is a business account btw.

Funny you should say really, i have just logged into My Account and noticed a new screen which i believe answers your question. See the attached pic
although i am not sure if this is live for business accounts or not, there is no my account app for WP7 from what i can see either from Vodafone.
