Hi,

I have bought a new htc wildfire but it is not a vodafone one. I have set my vodafone sim up in it and it is working fine for calls, text etc and is fine working on wi fi.

I can't ge the internet to work though when not in internet ragnge.

I tried putting in all the settings from the vodafone site re the apn but still no joy...

Any clues would be much appreciated!!!!

My sim connects to the internet fine in my old phone so not my contract!!!

Thanks for your post on this. I'm sorry to hear that you are having problems with connecting to the internet. I'm sure we can get this sorted for you.

Can you work your way through the following settings :-

1.Touch the MENU key
2.Touch Settings
3.Touch Wireless & networks
4.Scroll to and touch Mobile networks
5.Touch Access Point Names
6.Touch the MENU key
7.Touch New APN
8.Touch Name
9.Enter Vodafone Internet, touch OK
10.Touch APN
11. Enter:
For Pay monthly customers: internet
For Pay as you go customers: pp.vodafone.co.uk
12.Touch OK
13.Touch Username
14. Enter web, touch OK
15.Touch Password
16. Enter web, touch OK
17. Touch the MENU key
18.Touch Save
19. Touch the circle to the right of the Vodafone Internet profile name you have just created
20. Touch the Home key to return to the home screen
21. Touch the MENU key
22.Touch All apps
23. Scroll to and touch Internet
24. Touch the MENU key
25.Touch More
26. Scroll to and touch Settings
27.Touch Set home page
28.Touch Set home page
29. Enter e.g. http://google.com, touch OK.

Hi Vodafone.

could i have the up-to-date internet settings for htc wildfire. i just want to check my phone i just bought though vodafone shop. since the sim card was orginally a payt sim. now i upgraded to monthly. when i have full signal. and mobile internet connected. some times it saids that there is no network found.

Hi  i have vodafone monthly pay sim i put it in htc wildfire unlocked from three mobile , all is fine internet not workink , i applied setings as suggested here . still could not get it pl help

Hi fayazsamor,

What exactly happens when you try to access the internet on the phone? Do you get an error message straight away or does it just hang until it times out?

Also, what signal do you get on the handset?

Finally for now, if you pop the SIM into an alternate handset, can you access the internet on that one?

hi there i had the same problem with the wildfire s and all of the above setting did not work for me. 

so i did some soul searching and came up with the correct settings 

here you go 

in add new apn as usual

Name: vodafone internet

APN: wap.vodafone.co.uk

User Name: wap

Password: wap

MMSC: mms.vodafone.co.uk/serverlets/mms

MMS Proxy: 212.183.137.12

MMS Port:8799

Protocall: wap 2.0

MCC:234

MNC 15

save apn and load google job done

ive put my pay as u go sim in my htc wildfire but when i try to connect to the internet it wont ive tried the seetings as suggested but it just says turning on and wont do anything my sim was previously in a blackberry would this have any effect please help

Hi raeg, 

There's an easier way of getting the internet settings straight to your phone now.  Just send the text of WEB to 40127 and you'll receive them direct to your phone.
