HTC Wildfire - What do you really think?

I hope that I'm not the only one going to gripe about the wildfire.
I would like to know if this is just me... (Maybe). I am hoping that someone will agree.
I brought the wildfire due to the reading on the HTC site and the hype that everyone seems to be giving it... Well I got 2 on contract from Vodafone. What a painful processor...
So here is what I found so far, please either agree or disagree. Just want to make sure that I'm not the only one...
Phone rings, I get it out of the case and the screen seems to lock up! I drag down and drag down and drag down, but yet phone still rings. Then I miss the call and I call them back (thank god for free minutes). I downloaded a CPU monitoring tool, and called my phone, and yes CPU is at 100% Why?
Apps are very limited (I found) updates for the wildfire seems to be always the last ones to get the latest.
And also when I am on "G" network unless i get 4 bars of signal internet fails 9 times out of 10, i know it's the phone as I borrowed my friends DESIRE and I can walk into shops while using the bar code readers that works fine, the wildfire seems to loose all signal as soon as you walk in the door.
I know I seem to be given the wildfire a bit of grief, but for all the hype on this phone, I suppose I was expecting something really good. Don't get me wrong the phone to a degree is ok, but I have issues.
With all of the above I used my wife’s phone to see if I had the problem with just mine, but my wife’s is just the same. I am really quiet disappointed with it.
I think the main trouble is that I am not really happy with it. The last useful App I downloaded was myplayer, that again if you don’t get full 4 bars on "G" then it is unusable.
I feel the idea is there, but the poor phone just can't handle any extra work.
Has anyone had any issues? The same problem? or has found a solution?
Thanks
James

Thank you for posting on the eForum.
At the moment, this thread doesn't need a response from an eForum advisor but if there is anything we can help with, please let us know.

If 2.2 doesn't speed it up it's going on ebay.

very disappointed with the wildfire. i too have experienced the screen lock up when receiving a call - my solution was to press the power button which seems to bring the screen to life. try that

My Wildfire S bought 6 weeks ago is totally unsatisfactory. Phone service signal/ reception worse than my 6 year old Sony Ericsson and phone will not connect to open WiFi networks. I have had various discussions with Vodaphone support staff, tried various procedures, changed the SIM and had the phone reprogrammed all to no avail. Phone now on way back to Vodaphone.
How dissapointing................LTG
