HTS Sensation Sound Problem

Hi All

I hope some one can help me please.

My Sensation keep losing all it sonds, i.e. ring tone, message received sound email received etc.

It means I am missing all calls, texts, email etc, and thats not the real point of having a phone :smileysad:

The only way I can find to fix it is to restart the whole phone. Does anyone else have the same problem ?

Can any help me with this problem or is a just a case of returning the phone ?

Thank you Derek

Hey Guys,

Many thanks for your posts here.

There is currently a thread with the same issue here that we responded to earlier today.

Re: HTS Sensation Sound Problem

Love the phone but I have also had sound problems.

This morning there was no sound (no ring tones, music, earbud sound etc), could even change the sound options (ring tones etc).

The second day i had the phone this happened but then the sound came back after I restarted the handset. I figured it was something i had pressed (though I could not see anything) - Had to do a factory reset to get the sound back and lost all me account settings etc. - Can't be right.

I rang VF who said they would exchange it.

Thought I had got away with 'faultiness' as others have been experiencing

oh well - hopefully the next one will be good.

(I had no customised ringtones etc - just waht came with the handset)

Re: HTS Sensation Sound Problem

Seems to be a recurring theme with the sound. Mine has gone off 3 times now when running apps

Can you list what apps you have installed. Might be a conflict.

Re: HTS Sensation Sound Problem

Vodafone have now swapped mine for a new one. but still no cover for the camera lens on the back.  So I guess it shouldnt have one ?

I think the app that was causing sound problems on my old phone was "Talking Tom ". so he wont be loaded on my new phone :smileyindifferent:

Re: HTS Sensation Sound Problem

The music player bug seems to just be a bug in the media player. Try dice player from market as its the only player ive managed to find that supports hardware ecoding. It works perfectly.

Re: HTC Sensation Sound Problem

Thanks for the advice I will try out dice player as some of the other media players I have tried have been useless, I have found if I convert videos to mp4 they all play without any problem.

Re: HTC Sensation Sound Problem

Wow dice player actually works , avi and xvid files now play with no issues at all. I have tried the free version which last for 3 days but I think this is worth paying for the full version which is £1.82.

Re: HTC Sensation Sound Problem

Yeah the hardware encoding looks so much beter then all other players i tried before.

Least we know it is a bug with the default media player, so should be easily fixable in next update :smileyhappy:

I would recommend it too and price isn't alot. But it is something that should work in first place!!!

Re: HTC Sensation Sound Problem

I've just got the full version , I'm glad I don't have to covert everything to mp4 now, one thing I did find with dice player is if I turn the thumbnails on in the settings it crashes when I open the player so I have left this option off, I told the developer so maybe he will fix this for the next version. But otherwise a good purchase I think.

Re: HTS Sensation Sound Problem

I had similar sound problems on my new Sensation after installing Talking Tom as well. Have now removed the app and done a reboot/reset and hopefully all will be well.
