there are a few apps appearing on the market now that look quite good, and i would like to buy them.

I dont have a credit card only a maestro (Switch), so how am i suppose to buy the apps?

I bought mine with a Maestro. Just fill in the boxes? Did it give you an error?

when i go to an app you have to pay for for example:

first one i can find 'ring Stones $0.99' so i click on it then click 'buy' then i get the error 'invalid credit card, please enter a valid card or visit checkout.google.com to enter your payment methods'

I have my maestro already connected to the google checkout, so if i then click 'add card' it shows the little card symbols for Visa, Mastercard American Express or Discover... no mention of maestro! ths is really frustrating as wats the point in having a phone like this if you can only have the free apps??

As my quote says above, i've already registered my maestro with my google checkout account. Still cannot purchase anything though.
I was thinking amybe it is to do with the fact that americans dont have maestro so they wont let you use it to buy their apps.

If it comes up in dollars, it's possible it won't accept UK cards yet. There have been fixes going in place to convert to UK currency. It looks that way because it mentions Discover card, which we don't have in UK, I believe.

Do we have an update on this yet? I have found out yestarday i can buy apps through the googlecheckout if they are in £'s however i still cannot buy anything that is in $'s which is going to be really annoying especially when this new android facebook app comes out because i wont be able to buy it!!

I found that I can buy apps, only my card denies it as it presumes its a fraud act. Then I get a call asking me if I have just spent USD1 from my bank.

I know its not a Vodafone problem, but would be nice if google sorted this one out... There must be alot of lost revenue for these developers...

The last update we had on our Bug Tracker was on 28th May and this problem was still under investigation at that point. As soon as we have some more info for you we will update that thread to let you know.
