Htc Hd2 Mms Settings?

I too am having these issues, changed all the settings, got mms activated on my account and it still won't work.
Everything else is great but this mms thing is starting to miff me off somewhat.

VF tech dept phoned me today (as promised) spoke with a really helpful guy who must have spent at least 40 mts with me going over all the possibilities etc. In the end couldn't fix it. He advised that I should try my sim on another phone just to rule out other faults. After I hung up, I thought I'd try one more thing before that. I carried out a sprite restore to my phone from previous settings on my pc, and lo and behold it worked. Can now send and receive MMS. My email sending was dodgy after that for a bit, but I think I have sorted that too. So great credits to the VF Tech for their dedication to duty and the time they spent with me today..Cheers guy

Htc Hd2 Mms Settings?

Hi Sandy999, there are numerous threads about people moaning about the ROM issue, no offence but please do the ROM moaning at a those threads and lets just concentrate on the MMS issue rather than make it about something else. Feel free to do a search about the ROM issue and make your opinion heard on those threads. :)

Dan

thanks dan, not sure why you replied to my post if you weren't going to answer my question. i added the rom issue, simply to highlight that there alot of problems with this phone (lovely as it is) that vodafone aren't taking seriously and its getting quite frustrating

At the risk of seeming rather daft, what is a 'sprite restore' and does the use of the work 'restore' suggest you needed to have MMS working before, which I have never been able to do yet ?

Thanks in advance

Hi Mr Sniffle, sorry about that. I use Sprite back up and restore software on my phone & pc to save settings etc. So all I did was restore my phone from an earlier time and after rebooting all was fine. Not sure exactly why this fixed it, must have been some software glitch that restoring sorted. Not sure this will work for everyone though but try it if you can. I did have MMS working at one point before...

Cheers

Htc Hd2 Mms Settings?

Try to speak to VF today and see if they would at least acknowledge this as a known issue so we could get some 'weight' from the company behin looking at the solution and apprently it is not. So we must all be be making it up :( And everyone else out there is Internet land with the issue. SO now I have to send my phone away for over a week to be 'repaired'. Sory VF but this is not leaving me a happy customer. I wonder what rights I have under the 'Good and Services' act for forcing VF to offer me a replacement phone of another model ? I am just concerned that even if they cannot 'repair' my phone that I end up with another HD2 with the same issue. I love this phone but it is now starting to leave me feeling very underwelmed.

Htc Hd2 Mms Settings?

Am happy to report I am now sending and and receiving mms.
I decided to just revert back to all the original settings that were on the phone when I turned it on and hey presto the damn thing worked.

Have to say when I contacted VF via email they were very quick in replying so thanks VF for that. They had to activate mms on my account and it still didn't work, then I changed the settings as they suggested and it didn't work, then changed it all back and now it's all sweet.

Guess it was just a random bug that sorted itself out, hope it stays sorted out.

Mine never worked on MMS from even out the box so |I wonder if the factory reset will work for me. Ah well its back in the shop at the moment anyway. Let see if they can 'fix' it.

Mine didn' work out of the box but I guess thats because mms wasn't active on my account until I emailed them. All sorted now though. Great phone now I've got it all working.

Hope yours get sorted soon Mr Sniffle

Turn it off, then hold the volume up and down keys the press the power putton for a few seconds then let go, when you see the multi coloured screen press volume up quickly, then follow on screen instructions.

My HTC is running much faster since doing that!

it will wipe anything stored on the phones memory, so if your contacts are stored on the phone then they will get wiped, it will be as if you have just turned the phone on from the box. I transfered all my contacts to my sim and took my memory card out when i did it then put it back in when the wipe was done and all is fine now.

Htc Hd2 Mms Settings?

Hi Peeps,

I too was getting wound up with my MMS not working but I have a fix.

Spoke to Voda, who gave me some spiel about following their instructions and everything should be fine (but it wasn't)

However, I have found a very easy way to set up all the functions on the phone (internet, WAP, MMS)

Go to the connection Setup - (Start, Settings, Menu, All Settings, Connections, Connection setup)

DO NOT press ok on Operator Vodafone. Press Menu instead, followed by Update Database. Once you've done this go back into the menu options and click the enable auto configuration. Then press ok to configure against vodafone operator.

This then enables you to recieve MMS messages.

Let me know if yours work by doing this I am currently running ROM 1.48.405.2 (so I'm not sure if it only works for this version)

Cheers,

Justin

Htc Hd2 Mms Settings?

Hello Mods,

I've gone through all the settings etc... and still no joy on the mms front. Looking at what some other forum users have written it seems I may need mms added to my account as it doesn't seem to have carried over to my new phone!

Can you sort this for me?

Many thanks!

Htc Hd2 Mms Settings?

When I first got my HD2 the MMS Messaging functions were working fine. After installing the New ROM from the HTC site MMS Messaging no longer worked. I worked through the suggested settings listed in other posts on this forum only to find, as others have, that MMS still did not work.

Fortunately my GF also has the same phone but without the ROM upgrade so I compared her orginal settings to my altered ones. What I discovered is that her MMS server is set to use the Contract WAP connection not the Contract Internet connection. Setting my MMS settings to also use the WAP connection resolved my problems.

Hopefully this will point the VF techs in the right direction when looking for a fix and help other HD2 users in the meantime. Does anyone know of any reason why MMS messaging would not work using the Internet settings?
