Hello Cyberguy
It's not often that we get Google Apps Mail requests on any of our devices, anyhow I'm assuming you’ve been allocated a business Google email via your IT support?
I'm afraid we're yet to test this on a magic handset due to the limitations in us actually acquiring such a mail account, it stands to reason however that Google Apps Mail will bare many similarities to Gail, although this won't be the case with all features.
At this point I’d urge any other Apps Mail users (with HTC Magic’s) to comment on any experiences they may have regarding this, we can always try t set up an account on one of our own Magics, however this would need to be a test account with detailed issued to us from your self/IT support, please let us know if you'd like to proceed with such an option,
Thanks.

What i am trying to use is the gmail service with my own domain (Google for your Domain) not a business email. Looking at the htc user guide it looks like i will be able to set the mail up as a pop/imap service but the main gmail address, would i be able to set this as my own domain running through the GFYD service or has this go to be a standard email account
Thanks
Geraint

Hi Geraint
I've got to be completely honest with you. I'm not completely in the know when it comes to GFYD.
As far as I was aware the Google HTC Magic only allows the Gmail push service and pop3 and imap4 access. I'm not entirely sure how that would work with GFYD. Have you tried speaking directly with Google about this.?
I'm also going to put this out to our other eForum members who may know more about GFYD that I do
Please let me know how you get on and if you have any more questions please let me know and we'll be happy to help
Thanks
Wayne

I can confirm that is it possible to use a Google Apps account with the HTC Magic, as that is what I use (Standard Google Apps account for my own domain).
Not all of the phones features are compatible with a Google Apps account, but email, calendar and contacts certainly are. I also have a standard Google account which I use with the rest of the services. When setting up the phone for the first time enter the details of the Google Apps account. If at a later date you attempt to access a service which is not compatible with that account then you can simply enter details of a standard Google account which will then be used for that service only.
Hope this helps,
Andy
