My wife has a HTC Wildfire she baught off ebay a few months back to replace the Xpera X1 mini the dog chewed!

Its a very nice phone and untill today she has not had a single problem with it and now it's got no signal.

I started with basic trouble######ting techneques such as turning the phone off and on again, which seemed to make things worse. thephone was now stuck in a continus reboot cycle. I decided to do a factory reet as described on HTC website. This stopped thereboot issue.

The phone has no sigal and when on the lock screen it says limited service.

I have tried the sim in my Nexus One (also with Voda) and it works fine. I also tired my sim in the wildfire but same thing.

Obviously having 2 phones on voda i can rule out any network issues im my area.

I did also speak to the friendly Voda tech guys to be told to try manualy selecting the GSM only network. he then transfered me tosome one who is supose to be more 'technical' who told me he would send a text to my working phone that would fix the issue nop itwas the same thing the 1st guy tried. I cannot manuly select GSM only it switched back to auto.

I also descovered if i manualy select Vodafone UK network operator the phone tells me "Your simcard does not allow a connection to this network".

Phone is running Android 2.2.1.

Sorry for the rant but any suggestions would be appreciated.

Hiya, did the check that it was not on any blacklist ?  Obviously being bought off ebay makes me think to rule out that it hasn't been reported stolen etc 

Probably worth checking if you give them the IMEI number
