MMS Message problems!!!!

Hi,

Can anybody help??  I have been able to send and receive MMS messages up until around 6 weeks ago.  I then received some SIM update messages (this is the only think I can think has cause this!) and since then I am unable to send and receive MMS.

I spend a whole day on the phone to Vodafone, 6 different calls to 6 different 'customer service' people, all telling me to do the same thing, ie, reconfiger the phone's settings which I tried a few times.  3 operators said they had sent me text SIM updates, none of which was received by my handset.  Anyway, I pretty much have go to the end of my patients with calling the 'customer services', mainly because they dont seem to make a record of the calls so that every time you call in you have to go through the same information over and over and over again!!!!!

Is there anybody who has had a similar problem and managed to actually get it resolved??  I would be really grateful for some help, as it is just so annoying.  I have no problems with my regular text messages, calls or internet, so I am thinking this is not a problem with my handset.

Cheers!

Re: MMS Message problems!!!!

Hi ball82,

Many thanks for your post and welcome to the Vodafone eForum from all of the team.

When it comes to the SIM update messages there are two things that could have happened.

The first thing that could have happened is that your settings may have been altered which would prevent the messages from being sent.

I would recommend checking these settings and send them to your phone from our website via text.

Once you have received these and restarted your phone if you are still having issues I would recommend trying your SIM in another phone as the second issue could be a bar on your account.

If the SIM still doesn’t work in another phone, please let us know so that we can check the account for you.

Regards

James

Re: MMS Message problems!!!!

Thanks for your help James.  I have requested the settings, and I have not had a text message to my phone.  A couple of the customer services operators attempted to send me messages that I never got.  Dont seem to have any issues with SMS messages at all from anybody else, and I still cannot get MMS messages to send or recieve from my handset.

Can you offer any more help?

Thanks.

Re: MMS Message problems!!!!

Hi ball82

With the text not coming through I think it would be best to add them manually into the phone. They aren't on that help screen, but I have now linked to another. The settings will be the same and the process should be very similar.

Re: MMS Message problems!!!!

Hi Martin,

I did all this when the customer services staff emailed me the settings for the HTC mini, and all the settings are fine as per that.  I couldnt follow the Desire settings as the menu names are slightly different so it didnt work.  Any other suggestions?  Obviously its annoying, and im very keen to get it fixed if possible.

Thanks for all your help.

Re: MMS Message problems!!!!

Hi ball82,

If you've checked the settings and they appear to be fine, then it's possible that there could be an MMS bar on your number. So that I can check on this, I'm about to send you an email. If you reply with all the details, then I'll be in touch as soon as possible.

Kind Regards,

George.
