Try a soft reboot by turning your phone Off and On.
Make sure your texts are not being converted to MMS texts which happens when non standard emoticons are included and pictures etc. They are not part of a text bundle and are chargeable.
Is the issue to certain Contacts or everyone ?
Try deleting the Contact and Re Add.
Does this happen while at Ho,e or everywhere?
Does your phone have text blocking facilities and ask if the person your texting has this too and to check they haven't accidentally added you.
Sometimes a Sim Swap which moves your mobile number and tariff to a new SIM card can help. A Vodafone store can do this for you.
