Need microsim

Hi I just won a HTC one X and just wanted to know how I would go about getting my current Vodafone contract moved over onto the new phone. As in onto a new microsim.

Re: Need microsim

Hi Wolfclan,

Congratulations on your win!

The easiest way is to pop into you local store. They can change the SIM over while you wait. It only takes a couple minutes.

Alternativly order yourself a free pay as you go sim card. When it arrives give customer services a call who can transfer your numbers onto them, this will take unfortunatly take a bit longer.

Re: Need microsim

Thanks had a feeling it would be something like that I will order a sim online as I also got 1 month unlimited data and a bunch of calls with the other network I won the phone from. So im in no big hurry for the sim.

Re: Need microsim

Well I got my new microsim this morning and gave vodafone a call to get my contract moved onto the new sim. After explaining a number of times what I wanted doing and giving them the new and old numbers the woman told that they can not move a contract onto a pay as you go sim.

Re: Need microsim

Did you manage to get it sorted?

IF no you can sort this out yourself using the Transfer to MicroSIM from a Standard SIM – Vodafone online form

Re: Need microsim

It just crazy to be honest with you the person I spoke to on the phone did not seem to have a clue what they were doing and kept having to put me on hold to check stuff with other people. In the end she said she was sending me yet another microsim that would have my account info on but as far as I know even when I get this new sim I will still have to swop the account over by ether ringing them or using the online app.

Re: Need microsim

Well I just tried the online transfer and got this error.

Sorry - there seems to be an error

Please check the below error (s):

  • We're unable to process your request. Please go back and try again. If you continue having problems please contact us

Other than that it does not list any errors so I will give it a few more tries this afternoon and if that does not work it looks like im back to waiting for the other sim to arrive.

Re: Need microsim

Wolfclan,

Seems a bit odd. might just be issues with the system just now.

Worst case if you still can't get it working pop into your local store and they can swap it over for you.

Re: Need microsim

I presume this is all sorted now but in case not - you can simply cut down the existing Sim using scissors, I've done this several times myself using templates you can download from the internet.

This form does not work. The problem was originally posted 6 months ago and has not been fixed.

The Solved banner the community expert has so proudly placed on this thread is advising the person with the problem to go to the shop.

Another disaster averted congratulation.

Re: Need microsim

Hi L0rraine

Thanks for your post. We're not aware of any problems with the online form. I've just tried it and it worked fine.

Going to a store is the quickest option if you have one locally as it can be immediately picked up and activated at that time. However, if the online form isn't working for you then we'll be more than happy to post one out to you directly. I've sent a private message with details of how to contact us.

You can find your PM inbox here. If you can't access this link, please ensure that the box next to "Turn on private messages" is ticked on this page, and let us know if you need any further assistance.

Thanks

Simon
