No Internet

Can anyone help please.

I came back from France at the weekend, while there I had turned off internet access everywhere I could find (to save power and money). I used wifi connections manually all the time while abroad, I had thought I had turned everything back on but I can't get any internet connection.

In the browser I get - "the browser cannot load this page because there is no internet connection" and similar messages with everything that connects to the internet. As far as I can tell text and email still work fine, and I seem to have a good signal and have restarted the phone too - just in case.

Any ideas?

Re: No Internet

Hi,

I use an app to turn off the 3G connection to save battery.  Sometimes when I turn it back on it doesn't always work properly, I was advised to turn the aeroplane mode on and then off again and this seems to do the trick.

Might be worth giving it a go for your problem too.

Re: No Internet

Thanks for the idea - it didnt help.

I think there must be a network issue as i keep loosing all my signal, and the G with the arrows keeps disapearing too.

Hi DGTierney

Sorry to see that you haven't been able to get 3G back on your phone.

I have just checked the local area from the postcode in your account, and the cell sites look like they are working fine.

I have the HTC Desire, and this has happened to me, what fixed this for me was Settings > wireless & networks > Then make sure that Mobile Network is ticked

Re: No Internet

Since my return my phone has been losing signal lots - both at home and work - where previously I’ve never had any problems. While at first it just seemed to be internet that was slow / not working now I find limited service or no phone signal a couple of times a day, changing my network to GSM only has helped retain a phone signal, but internet is now almost unusable its so slow.

I've gone from thinking it was a setting I'd accidentally set, to thinking it was the netwok, to now thinking the phone itself has developed a fault.
