My sensation too is regularly loosing network signal. I have been to the local shop and had a new sim card but the issue still remains. The only way to get signal back is eithe to wait a long time and hope or turn of the network and then turn it back on again or restart the device.
It is spoiling an otherwise great phone and has certainly stopped me recommending either Vodafone or the Sensation to others, such a shame

This may be off topic but I have the Sensation as well and I think the signal is worse than the Desire I used to have. Here are my experiences...
I live in a village about a mile from the nearest town and about 12 miles from the nearest city. My Sensation has almost no signal at all in my village no matter where you go and none in the house whatsoever so I bought a Sure Signal. Works a treat. My old Desire had virtually no signal unless you were stood by the top floor window or in the field. It was marginally better on O2.
In the town the signal is usually around 2 - 3 bars on GPRS. On rare occasion you get a low HSDPA signal which is so low it doesn't connect a call and you have to put the phone in your pocket to make it downgrade to GPRS.
I have to admit my signal since my company moved contracts from O2 to Vodafone has dropped from being pretty bad to very bad or non existent. Can someone explain why coverage in the UK is so bad in general unless you happen to be in London or somewhere on the M4 corridor? I went to the Ballearics 4 years ago and had full HSDPA signal back then all over the islands.

Hi Guys,
At the moment we are continuing to test this issue and as of yet I don’t have an update for you however when I do have an update I will be able to update the thread for you.
I would advise looking at a free of charge repair in the first instance as this is always the first stage in getting any issue resolved.
James

Hi All
Thanks to all of those customers who provided their details and took part in the testing, your help has been very much appreciated. The devices team has provided us with some feedback which can be found below:
Customers are using a variety of software versions some Vodafone software others on Open Market software, some on the latest Android version others still on the old Gingerbread platform. Some are comparing signal performance against other old devices and some saying it simply has got worse recently.
The coming of Spring and other local geographical changes such as a new building will alter the network availability in an area, even leaves growing on trees through Spring/Summer can alter the characteristics of the network in their location as it is based on line of sight. The fact the customers report signal when using other network SIM cards again proves that the device is working but that the signal in their location at the time is poorer than others or the experience.
In summary we cannot see anything here leading us to believe we have a widespread problem with the HTC Sensation device or the Vodafone software. There may be individual customers who genuinely have some performance problems through individual device failures in which case a repair is the solution for them. In all cases we should recommend the customers install the latest version of software available as it will have the latest Android Platform and device improvements from HTC before doing anything.
You can find more information on our warranty and repairs procedure here - Repair a faulty handset or device
Thanks
Simon
