Re: No signal on HTC sensation

I too have the latest software installed, as does my wife.............and my sister in law. Guess what? since we have had these phones we have nothing but signal issues 24 hours a day. I am on my second hand set and we have all upgraded our sim cards for new ones. Guess what? no bloody signal. Sister in law stuck her sim in a phone roughly 8 years old and has zero problems since.

Everyone knows it is a hardware fault with the phones antenna, but no one in your company will admit it. I rang about this because as far as I am concerned this phone is not fit for purpose as a phone and I believe that entitles us all to a replacement handset. I was promised a callback within 15 minutes and have currently been waiting over a week for said callback. I may have missed it as I GET NO POXY SIGNAL ON MY PHONE. I am slightly more angry than usual about this as the problem with these phones caused me to miss an emergency call from my wife recently when she was rushed into hospital. I would appreciate some comeback on this message and shall be ringing customer services ( and I use the term loosely as they seem to provide no service worth having ) yet again tomorrow to try and sort this mess out. I and my family members refuse to spend the next year and a half dealing with this quite frankly useless handset. Pull your fingers out please Vodafone and do your jobs.

Re: No signal on HTC sensation

I ditto SuperChav! Silence from VF, both on this thread and "signal Strength changes" thread.

Had this phone 6 months, running a program on it called "No Signal Alert". Thing it dinging at me all day! Stores a log of "signal loss" which I supposed I could publish on the net to warn people of the poor signal you get with the HTC Sensation.

Real shame, as many people have said, fantastic unit, crap as a phone!

Re: No signal on HTC sensation

I'm not expecting anything to be done about this tbh. I had the exact same complaint 5 months ago and nothing was done then either. Currently going through an appeals process with vf to try and get somwhere, however just this minute had an email from them saying they couldn't find me on their system...........with the customer number they gave me to lodge the complaint, so I have to start again with that. Doubt it will do any good tho. VF will not admit there is a problem with this handset as they claim they cannott find one. Well I'm on my second handset and my wife and sis in law have the exact same issue. It's a hell of a coincidence that 4 handsets are all duff ones that need a repair in such close proximity to one another. Heh, it was funny when I spoke to customer services today. He actually had the cheek to suggest that he has never had anyone ring in and complain about this issue with this handset and neither had any of his colleagues, nearly wet me pants laughing.

At the end of the day the argument is very simple, this handset is not fit for purpose and therefore in my opinion breaches the t&c's of the contract I entered into with VF. I prob would have suffered it if my wife had not been taken ill, but that was the last straw, finding out she was in Hospital approx 5 hours after she got taken in because no one could get hold of me.

I will not let this issue rest until it is dealt with correctly.

Re: No signal on HTC sensation

Hi All

This is really a joke but I own this phone so it doest make me laughing..:smileysad:

I own this phone and use it above Orange operator (In Israel) and encounter the same issues reported above and in other threads in this and other forum.

I think everyone agree that the problem is in the phone and not w/ the carrier provider, I personally had a Nokia E71 (good for calls only...) and I didnt face any issues w/ signal going on/off randomally like I see with my new Sense...

I have some background in 3G/GPRS baseband design (more in the hardware stuff) and the problem seems to be related to the way "handover" between networks is done, I most design this algorithm is implemented by Software which make this "fixable", but this is just a guess...

I sent a note to HTC few weeks ago and i didnt get any repsonse, I think that operators should do something and contact HTC and "ask" to provide a solution for this problem.

Hopping for a solution....

Re: No signal on HTC sensation

I have the same issue.

In addition it frequently doesn't find a signal until you turn Airplane mode on and off.

Very reminiscent of the initial problems with my old HTC Magic nearly three years ago.

Thats progress for you!

Re: No signal on HTC sensation

Alright, can i just say this ISN'T a hardware issue otherwise you wouldnt get the signal at all. I just got the sensation myself, yeah, the signal does drop out etc, but for you guys thinking its the end of the world, either take it in to the local store if you can't handle it, or just wait out. Everyone knows customer support for ANY company is useless. But this genuinely isnt VF's problem. So give them a break really, its down to HTC and their crappy scripters/software developers. If they can't design the OS to be compatable with the antenna then they really need to be fired.

Cool your beans people, its not on VF, if anything, if you really want to complain and cry, get on to HTC.

Re: No signal on HTC sensation

Jay, I think everyone agreed this is not related to VF or any service provider, the problem is in the device itself.

And now the big Q is: why HTC are not doing something to fix this????

Hi Guys,

I understand your frustration with the handset however, we are still waiting for our devices team to get back to in relation to this before we can advise any further.

Re: No signal on HTC sensation

And when will they be getting back to you guys? a week?, a month?, six months?

My phone will be going away for "repair" this week hopefully.

It is my intention is to keep rejecting the phone until it is fixed as it is not fit for purpose as a device for making telephone calls . I have 10 lost signal alerts since yesterday am. twice being cut off mid call.

Why dont you call the devices team to ask when they will get back to you? This is starting to turn into the farce I had with the 1st blackberry storm that was eventually  replaced by VF because it was so bad. Only after I emailed the CEO of VF tho.

Keep the paying customer updated VF.

Re: No signal on HTC sensation

Hi Blinkie,

We don’t have a time scale for this I’m afraid. As soon as our devices team have something to update us on, they will and in turn, we’ll pass this update on to you.

Thanks

Re: No signal on HTC sensation

I have same issue ive been in contact with vodafone since the start of the year and having tried to resolve the issue myself and doing the suggestions they made ive  now been told ive got to take mine into store to get it sent away for repair i only recieved my phone on the 27th of December having ordered it online and given every other message on this forum is about this issue im just going to have to keep sending it for repair until it actually gets fixed or vodafone decides it makes more sense to just supply me with a phone that works, i have zero faith it will be fixed and i just pay £36 a month for what exactly?

If only i had demanded a refund or an exchange for a samsung galaxy s2 when i first realised the issue properly which was within the 7 working days (even now with all the bank holidays in between its not exactly ages even now)  rather than me assuming that a phone that cost hundreds of pounds would be capable of getting some signal at least in a good signal area where any phone apart from my new one can, instead i took vodafones advice and suggestions and tried to sort the issue trying things they asked me to try unsuccessfully myself. It seems i just wasted my time until a return was no longer an option by vodafones terms so i feel a bit conned by vodafone to be honest.

Here's an idea why not call them? best not to use a HTC sensation tho. :smileywink:

Handset sent away today for repair, so lets see what the reply is. I am going for a "unable to replicate fault" reply so it will be a re flash of firmware and sent back.

Re: No signal on HTC sensation

Blinkie, I'm going to be watching this thread with interest if it makes a difference I might try and borrow a phone a for a while I send this one off, I'm not holding out any hope though that yours will be fixed.  Interesting that Vodafone have been reporting the issue to the devices team since I first phoned them back in August (they refuse to change the handset) and it's still a regularly posted problem.  Ah well only another 12 months before the contract ends and  I can wave good bye to VF and their lack of customer service!
