Over 2500 txt messages sent, whilst message indicated as 'pending' on Phone

Hi
I have found a quite a few similar stories to ours, and have already been in touch with Vodaphone. The advisor contacted the tech team but nothing was said about this being a known problem. I have to take the phone into the store but in the meantime have had all outgoing 'traffic' blocked so as not to increase an already astronomical bill. I am hoping that the charges will be waived, the advisor was really helpful, but has anyone else already dealt with the same situation and what was the outcome?
The phone was also supplied by Vodaphone so there is no third party involved?
Any advice would be much appreciated :-)

Hi keepupwith
Thank you for your post and a very warm welcome to the eForum.![]()
I am shocked to read what has happened, I would have turned my device off too if I received half of that.
I am pleased to see that this has been recognised and amended for you in terms of the costs but would like to see if we can prevent this from happening again.
There may be a couple of factors affecting this, the first may be that the SIM has somehow faultered and I would recommend backing up all of your contacts and phone information and obtaining a free SIM from your local store.
Please can you also ensure that you are running the latest software for your device, a step by step guide on our Help Centre will assist you with this.
I understand that restoring the device to its factory settings is something not all users are comfortable with however if these two checks fail to prevent this it may be the next option.
If this still continues please take the device to your local store and one of our experts will be able to take a look and advise you of your best options or alternatively we can arrange a postal repair.
Let me know how you get on.
Many Thanks

Thank you for your reply...the phone has now been sent off for repair. However Vodaphone do appear to have back tracked on the promises made by the supervisor yesterday. We now have no guarantee that the bill be be cleared, it depends if a fault is found!!!
It is a new phone, I think we've only had it a couple of months, so I would have thought it should be up to date as far as the software goes.
Thanks again for your reply..about to ring customer services again...they will be fed up with me!!
