Questions!!

Hi, I was wondering if somebody could help me.

Currently, I own a Samsung Jet, and it has full network access, can make/receive calls, texts, internet access etc.

When I put this SIM card into my HTC Sensation, I get no signal, cannot call or text, have no internet etc.

Am i doing something stupid? How can I resolve this? Could it be anything to do with my tariff, old sim card?

Thanks in advance.

Re: Questions!!

Hi,

If you put your SIM card into a different phone other than the Jet or the Sensation do you have the same problems (this will let you narrow down if it's a problem with the SIM itself or the Sensation).

First thoughts are the Sensation might be faulty if it's not picking up the SIM at all (sounds silly but always make sure you've got the SIM in the right way) sometimes it's also worth polishing the connectors on the SIM and the phone with a dry tissue if dust is causing a problem).

Re: Questions!!

Hi,

I don't think it's a faulty SIM as it works perfectly in the Jet. When I put it into the sensation, I get a very weak connection to the network. However, I cannot make a call, receive an incoming call, wouldn't send or receive a text etc. No connection to 3g or GPRS.

Any help greatfully received.

First place to start is get the sim swapped. Fastest way is to nip into a Voda store and get one. It will take around 10 mins.

Re: Questions!!

Hi class

If the SIM works perfect in the Jet, but you get issues in the Sensation, chances are it’s the Sensation that’s at fault.

As already suggested, if you can try your SIM in a completely different handset, not the Jet or Sensation, and it again works fine, we can definitively point the finger at the Sensation as being faulty.

A good idea would be to pop to a Vodafone store. Here they’d have a handset to try your SIM in, the facilities to change your SIM if required, and also a point where you can action the beginning of the Repair process.

Let me know how you get on.

Would it not be quicker to get a new sim than wait for a repair just to make sure? There have been posts on here where sims that were not that old and were fine in previous phones wouldnt have it in the Sensation.

Re: Questions!!

I have just obtained a Sensation and it recognises my SIM but will not connect to the network. Did changing your sim resolve this?

Re: Questions!!

If you've had the SIM for a while then it's worth getting a new one. I had to when I got my Desire as my previous one wouldn't connect on 3G
